Skipping Stones Design Blog Hop and New Release!

Its Blog Hop Time at Skipping Stones Design today!  Its also release day for the new Breathtaking Butterflies set and the start of a new sketch challenge!

If you hopped here from Pamela's Blog then you are right where you should be!  If not head to the SSD page and start at the beginning!

Here's what I created  for you today!  (I wanted something really special for the hop and I got carried away and forgot to use my own sketch, but shh! don't tell) It's a Joy Fold card using the newest Breathtaking Butterflies set.  My papers are once again from the Authentique Gathering line.

I stamped my base butterflies in Dried Marigold and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink from Tim Holtz.  I then stamped the butterfly overlays with Walnut Stain Distress ink.  Then I went over them both with Boss Gloss ink from Stampendous! and then added Clear embossing powder and heated for shiny butterflies!  My ribbon treatment is tied together through a button and then the button is glue-dotted down to the left of the top panel but slightly overlapping so as to keep it closed.

Since its also challenge day here's this week's sketch SSD#132 if you want to play along with us!

Alright! Now its off to Joanna's Blog!  If you get lost along the way here's the hop order for today:

  9. This card is beautiful! I rarely think to use fancy folds on my cards (allthough with this week's sketch I am trying something different). Love your butterflies, too.
