Scrappy Chick Sunday Sketch Challenge

Its time for another Scrappy Chick Sunday sketch challenge! And it just happens to coincide with Desert Island Crafters Challenge today!   Its also challenge time at Simply B Stamps!  We are going to start a monthly challenge!  woohoo!  This month the challenge is simple...just use a Betty Stamp...any Betty!

I used Valentine Betty from Simply B Stamps, one of a line of The Betty chibis.  I colored her to match this awesome paper from My Minds Eye that I picked up at Enchanted Cottage last week.  I kept the card monochromatic (one of the challenges from this week's DICC itinerary)

Isn't she a hoot?  And gotta love her bat!  I added some random hearts to the paper with the Wild Thing set from Verve Stamps in Fired Brick Distress ink and distressed all my edges with Smoky Gray Versafine ink.  I also added some embossing around the edges of the tag with Aged Silver Embossing Enamel from Stampendous!

Here's the itinerary from Desert Island Crafts Challenge this fortnight:

 1) Monochromatic
2) Stitching
3) Metal
4) Embossing
5) No Designer/Pattern Paper
6) Handmade Flower
7) Distressing
8) Sentiment
9) Up Cycle
10) Chipboard

I used monochromatic, embossing, distressing, and sentiment.

And Here's my sketch for the next two weeks, so go play!  Just link up here to Mr Linky so we can see your creation!  You have until Friday night Jan 27th to play along.  What's the prize up for grabs this week??  I have an embossing folder from Tim Holtz for you!  I'm splitting a package between two weeks and this weeks giveaway will be Retro Circles!

Oh, and last weeks winner, is once again Linda B!  Here's her gorgeous card:

Tickled Pink Challenge

I have had this sweet little Molly Mittens image colored forever it seems like. And I FINALLY finished her into a card! This card is for this weeks "Lace & Pearls" Challenge at the Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge Blog.

Here's the whole card...I made it into an easel card for the 3 Dimensional challenge Make it POP at Do You Stack Up? Molly is also popped up and I crinkled my flower, folded it then scrunched it down...lots of dimension.

I used my lace across the middle of the card and also a snip at the bottom beside the sentiment (Verve), but also used 2 other ribbons as well. The pearls are 2 different sizes, both by American Crafts. I've had some of these for almost 2 years, hoarding the last of them!

Challenge List:
Tickled Pink Stamps: Lace & Pearls
Do You Stack Up? : Make it POP
Fussy and Fancy: Springtime
Papertake Weekly: anything Goes
Top Tip Tuesday: Open Challenge
Wags n Whiskers: Die cut or Punch
Totally Gorjuss: 1 flower, 2 patterns, 3 ribbons/lace
Papercutz: Anything Goes
Just Add Ink: Just add a flower

OK, thats it for now...but check back later! -Cyndi

InStyle Stamps Blog Hop!!

Happy Friday! My kids (well, at least 3 of them) have had 2 days of fall break and are loving it! War Eagles have a game against N Davidson tonight, then Band Festival back at N Davidson tomorrow...then of course Sunday is Halloween!! (Also check out Frights and Pipes at the UNCSA organ department tonight if you are local....Perry and friends will be playing frightfully fun and creepy music late night)

Be sure to head back to the ISS blog when you are done to leave a comment and vote for a chance to win a $25 goodie bag!! (And don't foret to leave some happy comments along the way for everyone!)

Pixie Dust Stdio Polka dot challenge

Happy Friday! This afternoon I have for you my card for this weeks Pixie Dust Studio challenge, "Go Crazy with Polka dots!" Well, thats not hard for me seeing as I love polka dots.
But I did pull out some funky polka dot paper...from Fancy Pants, no less. (seems like its been quite the Fancy Pants week ) I used 2 new images from the Funhouse collection...Frankie Boy and Frankie Bride. Aren't they just the funkiest little cuties ?!

The sentiment is from an old Verve set, Anniversary birds. I stamped it directly on the main card with Palette ink. The spiderweb border is a Martha Stewart punch.

Be sure to head over to the Pixie Dust Challenge blog and play along with the Pixies this week (you don't have to use a Pixie Dust Studio image if you don't have one, but we love it when you do!!) There is always a FREE digi of your choice up for grabs for the winner each week!

Thanks for stopping in today! Its been so much less stressful without the job. Life is getting better, its just been totally insane the last couple of weeks it seems. Thankfully everyone will be back in school in less than a week!

OHDBCGA with InStyle Stamps

Hump day...ho humph. I usually get Wednesdays off, but with everyone at work taking vacations I find that I have to go in extra days this week. No stamping time. But at least its extra hours.

But for this Hump Day at least I have some cute eye candy for you. Its the "Over the Hump Day Blog Candy Giveaway" at InStyle Stamps! Our theme this month is graduation, so if you still have a special someone who needs a quick Congrats card...head over to the ISS blog for lots of inspiration from our Design Team!

For my image I chose Jessica in her cap and gown. I didn't need a card right now so I went with our High School colors, Orange and Black. It seemed a bit too Halloweeny (which I do love mind you, but this was looking cheesy halloweeny) so I found this fun striped pattern in my stash to add a bit of color. Jessica is colored with copics and my sentiment is from an older Verve set calle Starlight, Starbright Remix.

Thats it for me for now..be sure to go check out the rest of the DT's creations and enter for a chance to win an awesome prize this month!

On a personal tangent...I took the girls and Michael to see Prince of Persia this Sunday and we loved it! Who wouldn't enjoy drooling over Jake Gyllenall for 2.5 hours?? He has such dreamy sad eyes. Hurm, anyway...lots of action...non-stop in fact. Well worth the ticket price!

OK, have a great day. Thanks for visiting!

Wedding Week: Day 3

Its the 3rd day of Wedding Week at InStyle Stamps and the image we are previewing today is called "Couture Cake". Be sure to check in over at the ISS blog to see more samples of this gorgeous and funky image and also to check out the deets on Virginia's newest contests, giveaways and offers. She has a friend in the Wedding business that is being featured this week and you don't want to miss the special offers!

OK, have you ever TOTALLY finished a card that you almost love, then decide it needs one more thing, only to end up RUINING the whole card???? Arrgh! I wanted some shimmer or sparkle, Pulled out my new Vanilla Smooch spray which is NORMALLY not so clumpy and very light. And what do you know...clumps. HUGE wet gooey clumps EVERYWHERE.

Its still ok, but NOT what I intended. Hurumph. Anywho. I LOVE this image! I colored it with copics of course and then cut it out with Labels 10 Nestabilites. The sentiment is from my Favorite ever Verve set, "Anniversary Birds". Papers are by My Minds Eye. And we will not even MENTION the stupid smooch, right?

OK, I will have yet one more post today if you can believe it! Samples for class cards for this weekend! So check back!

ISS Peek Day 1: Erica

Today is the first day of Sneak Peeks at InSTyle Stamps for February! I am so excited to share these images with you because they are sooooo cute! Today I have Erica, a new Retro image that will be arriving at the ISS webstore this Friday!

Erica was colored to match this fun retro looking paper from American Crafts. My only complaint is my "black" hair. I colored 2 different images and wasn't really happy with either. My coloring on the grays looks blurry and yucky. But, I think the rest of her turned out cute, especially her sparkly green eyeshadow!

I also made my own glittery buttons with clear glitter buttons from American Crafts and a Red AC slick writer. The sentiment is Verve. Below are the copics that I used.

OOpps! I forgot to tell you that I based this card on the Friday sketchers sketch for the week!

Be sure to check out the InStyle Stamps blog for links to the other DT's cards! and tomorrow I will be back with a new Anime image for you! Thanks for visiting today!

OHDBCGA

I am back again...2 posts in one day! Here is my card for the Over the Hump Day Blog Candy Give Away! Our theme this month is hearts, and what better image than these 2 adorable Kissing birds with Heart wings? (A new image this month available from InSTyle Stamps) Eeeekk! They are so cute!

I used a sentiment from an old Verve set that I have, "Anniversary Birds" and it is a perfect match! The papers are from Anna Griffin, and I found at Micahel's. I left the tails of the birds cut out when I used my Labels 4 Nestie (Spellbinders) to cut the shape then I airbrushed the background while still in the template with both Copic YR61 and R22 around the edges only.

Be sure to head over to the InStyle Stamps blog to check out the cards from the other DT members, get the rules for this months contest and enter to win! Thanks for stopping in tonight! Happy Hump Day!

CASC5: Kelli

Happy New Year! I had to work all day yesterday and never planned a post ahead, sorry! I also didn't get to do all the 12 Cards of Christmas for The Greeting Farm, but oh well. I do have a card for you today for the 5th Club Anime Sketch Challenge. You can see the challenge and more samples from the DT over at the Club Anime blog.

I used Kelli, a new digi Anime image from InStyle Stamps for my card. She was colored with copics, then I masked her and airbrushed her while still in the Labels 4 Nestabilites die. I flipped the sketch on its side so I could do her larger. The sentiment is by Verve Stamps, paper is from We R Memory Keepers...a little tame for my normal taste so my card isn't as bright at I like, but I was just in the mood to use it :)

All supplies are listed below, including all the Copic colors I used. Have a great weekend and I hope 2010 is good to everyone! Thanks for visiting!
