Desert Island Crafters Challenge

Its time for a new challenge at Desert Island Crafters Challenge, and this month Jingle is bringing on a real challenge for us!

OK, I love bright colors and have plenty of monkeys thanks to Changito, but sadly the crud is moving to me now.  Kid 3/4 also has it.  So I don't feel like stamping :(  Luckily I had this CAS Changito card that I still haven't posted from the October 2011 Stampendous! catalog.  He fits monkey, orange (flowers), and grass. Whew!

I used Changito Daydreamer for my monkey, colored with copic markers.  Papers are from American Crafts and ribbon is from May Arts.  Sorry I'm not typing much today, but I must rest.

Desert Island Crafters Challenge

Its the first of the month...can you believe it?? Its also time for a new Itinerary at Desert Island Crafters Challenge! This week is Jen's Itinerary:

1.) Vintage

I actually used a lot of items on this one: #1,2,4,5,8,9,and 10!  But its not actually a new tag.  I created this for the January Stampendous! catalog.  It not only made the catalog, but its being featured at the top of their webpage right now too! Pretty cool :)

I started by stamping the dress form from Corset Ladies onto a piece of canvas and embossing that with Detail Black EP.  I then spritzed the canvas and my tag with Cinnamon, Starfish, and Creme de Chocolat Glimmer Mists.  I then stamped various pieces from Corset Ladies onto the tag in distress ink, and finished it off by edging the tag in Aged Gold Embossing Enamel and some Chunky Champagne Glass Glitter.

The background panel was stamped with Railroad Poster and distressed. The project was finished with some thick jute, stained string cording, and a sun charm.

Its the 15th of the month and that means its time for a new Itinerary at Desert Island Crafters Challenge blog!  This week our very own Taylor made our itinerary:

I used #1,3,6, and 9.  My layout features the set Silly Cats 2 released by Skipping Stones Design yesterday.  I'm honored to be one of the guest designers this month, and you should go check out yesterdays blog hop HERE.  Such cute silly kitties!!

So I couldn't resist pulling this set out again to make a layout with my 4 cats: Bitsy, Apollo, Starbuck, and Roxie.  My papers are from and older Bo Bunny line that was just purrfect!

My title was created with Nesting Pennants, Nesting Frame 3, Clip It Kit, and High Rise alphabet...all dies from QuicKutz by Lifestyle Crafts.

Here's one of the cute felines from the set and one of the many sentiments.  Below is the other sassy miss.

Desert Island Crafters Challenge #24

 AS you are reading this today it is my last day at CHA...and I am sneaking away to Disneyland with Lea and Betty and her whole family!  Yippee!!

But today is the first of teh month which means its time for a new Desert Island Crafters Challenge!  This fortnight our challenge is all about birthdays so who better than Fluffles to bring some birthday cheer?  My card features the new Cupcake Fluffles from Stampendous!  I colored him to match this fun and bright Cupcake paper from Little Yellow Bicycle.

The bottom panel was dry embossed with one of the Whimsy folders from Lifestyle Crafts.  The cute little cupcake I cut using the new Baked Goods die, also from Lifestyle Crafts, then added some Glossy accents and Crystal Multi fine glitter from Stampendous!

Desert Island Crafters Betty style

Its the first of the month (can you believe its December already??) and that means its time for a new challenge at Desert Island Crafters Challenge Blog!  Today we are using Beth's Itinerary:

Stampendous! Saturday

 It's the first Saturday of the month, and that means it's time again for a new challenge with the Stampendous team!  This month, to kick thing off and celebrate World Card Making Day, we are looking towards the holidays AND trying to keep it Clean and Simple.  That's right - we are making Clean and Simple (CAS) holiday cards!!  You'll see a few team members showing off more than one card today; some chose to make one CAS and then take that design and showcase how to "step it up".  Others chose to make sets of CAS holiday cards that could be given as gifts or used to make a dent in the Christmas card list.

Our challenge to you this month is to join us in making CAS holiday cards.  We want to help you get into the holiday spirit, so this month we are giving away a Cling Jumbo Sparkle Joy set to a random winner. From the Crypt...

It's time again to Open the Crypt on some of my favorite images from the Emo lines!  I have 4 cards for you this morning from the Back to School Emo line and the Everyday Emo line.  All stamps are available in the Simply Betty Stamps webstore.

First up today is Back to School Christian Emo.  I mean, look at those skinny jeans and that priceless look on his face.  Look familiar to anyone with teenage kids?  For Christian I colored him with my beloved copics to match some fun old paper from Basic Grey, added some die cuts and a piece of chipboard.  The arrow I embossed first with White powder then used some Copic reinkers on a Ranger blending tool and added some blending solution then smashed it around.  Since its alcohol based ink it stays right where you want it for a cool tye-died look!

And on to Everyday Christian Emo.  Still that same fun teen attitude, but today he is ready to head off with his friends and skafari.   I included his best pal (which comes along with Christian).

Next is School Girl Lola from the Back to School Emo line.  For her I pulled out some old Bo Bunny stickers to jazz up the card a bit.  Check out her cool earrings :)  This is also my card for this week's Desert Island Crafter's Challenge Itinerary.  (I used this week's Sketch Saturday for my layout)

And last on the agenda today is Back to School Rio.  She's blowing her last bubble before heading to class and being reprimanded to throw her gum out!  Her skullie headband is precious!  All the Emos catch my eye because I love their funky yet cute style!  Unlike any other stamps that I've seen!  And I lurve their huge eyes!  Very fun to color and layer the shades!

Happy Monday!  Its challenge time at Desert Island Crafters Challenge again and today I have a PEEK for you!!  This is The Corpse Bride coming soon from Simply Betty Stamps!  She will be released in just a few short weeks, but you may see peeks of her popping up all over the place!!  If you like Betty's images, be sure to follow me for me peeks of fun stuff to come!!

And check out that AWESOMEly spooky gate!  Its a new  background  stamp from Stampendous! called Beware Gate thats embossed with new Aged Black Embossing Enamel.

So, on to the challenge!!  Its Suzie McFloozy's Itinerary that we follow this week, and here it is:

I used #1 Dry embossing (Tim Holtz folder distressed with purple Metallic rubons)

(I stitched my ribbon to the panel overlapping pieces to form a ruffled edge)

Simply Betty Stamps New Release!

Did you read that right?  Another Simply Betty Stamps release??  Yep!  We are kind of combining, but not really, our teams at Simply Betty Stamps and The Burtonesque Dolls.  AND, instead of dragging on the peeks and TORMENTING you over 6 days we are going to do peeks and release all in 2 days each time!!

For today I have used 2 of the new Merkids DIGI images for my card.  Meet Cornelius and Suzi.  Are they just the cutest or what?  Has me humming Under the Sea...

I had a lot of fun making this card cause I just lurve these images!!  I pulled out Pixielicious paper from Cosmo Cricket as my color inspiration and am thrilled with where it went from there!  As you can see I added lots of glitter everywhere with a Quickie Glue Pen.  My glitters are all from Stampendous!  (only the BEST you know)  COlors are Tigerlily, Lavender,  and Ocean Spray.

I mean, is she lovely or what?  And Cornelius is a hottie!  hehe.  Today is also Challenge day over at Desert Island Crafter's Challenge!  We have guest Kate Tate's Itinerary for you today:

It’s a SteamPunk kind of day! At lest that’s part of the challenge at Desert Island Crafters this week! This week we are going from Sharon R’s Itinerary:

Steampunk Clocks Monotone Beads Collage Asian Charms Mystery Die Cuts Black & White I used Steampunk, Clocks (gears), monotone, collage, charms, die cuts, and black & white. I cheated a bit on my Steampunk because Pixie Dust Studio does have a really cute Steampunk Pixie but silly me started coloring the wrong one…this is Circus Princess. But I think she works perfectly! My gadgets are die cut with Tim Holtz Gadgets and Gears over Graphic 45 Steampunk paper. I also cuttle-bugged my Clockworks folder on another print for added texture in my collage. The large metal frame is from my stash, the grommets from SU! and the charm is by Inky Impressions. Scroll down for my Inky Impressions Inspiration post today.
