Stampendous! meets May Arts and PEEKS!

Stampendous! has a fun week in store for you, full of lots of lots of Sneak PEEKS of all the new stamps being released at CHA this week! We are also teaming up with May Arts this week for a double dose of yummy goodness. Head over to the Stampendous! blog every day this week for more peeks!

This is one of the cards I created for the July 2011 Stampendous! Catalog. I started by folding a piece Ivory speckled cardstock into a 5.5” x 4.25” card. I inked the Stampendous! Autumn Tendril stamp with Tim Holtz Weathered Wood distress ink, then added some Brushed Corduroy around the edges of the stamp. Blot some off with a balled up paper towel then stamp on cardstock for a more muted look. Using both pads distress the card with the ink direct to the paper.

On a small square of blue/green paper from Paper Adventures stamp I stamped the Music Score background with Versamark and embossed it with new new Weathered Verdigris powder.

On a 3”x4” panel of speckled ivory I sprayed Cinnamon and Sage Glimmer Mist. (A heat gun helps to speed the drying process.) Ink Stampendous! Bird Post stamp (arriving SOON at a store near you) with Versamark ink. Using Fran’s Painting with Powder Technique, apply Mahogany, Weathered Verdigris, and pale Gold EP to image. Heat.

I added some metallic chalks to bird for interest. (from Craf-T-products) With a versamarker I went over specific parts of the already embossed image that were not dark enough for my taste then added Mahogany powder and heated again.

Finally, as some added texture I threaded an antique button through this lovely May Arts rayon ribbon then heated the ribbon to manipulate the size and shape.

May Arts will also be featuring projects on their blog all week. Be sure to check in there, at the Stampendous! blog, and at our DT blogs as well!

Thanks for visiting me today!
