Rock & Roll

Have you stopped over to the Simply Betty Stamps Challenge blog this week? If so then you have noticed that the challenges are back up and running in full swing! Last week’s challenge from our card team was to create something for a child. And this week kicks off the Scrap Team challenges! Woo Hoo!

Our first challenge is just that, a challenge! We want to see an explosion album or an album in a box…wow! But, you know you can do it! If you will simply head to Splitcoast Stampers and head to Resources, then search for “album” you will be amazed at all the tutorials for cool mini album projects! Above is what mine looks like when you start to explode or unsquash it. Below is the whole inside of the album when its open and spread out.

I chose to do what is called a squash book, but I think its more of an explosion album, LOL. I knew I wanted to use these cute pics to go with the Jude and the Rockers stamps. My youngest daughter, her BFF, and I went to Carolina Rebellion a couple of month back. Bands included saving Abel, Hinder, Avenged Sevenfold, Seether, and more. It was a total blast!

We would love if you join in on our challenge! Hop over to the SBS Challenge blog and link up a fun explosion book, album in a box, or the like! Here's a closeup of Lily on the front of my book. I added some Stampendous! Clear glitter to her hair and outfit, and used my black Glaze pen on her jewelry.

I started with 2 plain 4 x 4 chipboard coasters and covered them with pattern paper. (I used Yes glue to hold it together). Next I inked all the edges with black ink. On the background of the cover I used a piece of cool paper from DCWV, sprayed the hole thing with Goosebumps, then rubbed on some distress ink once that was dry. Finally I added some Stampendous! Wild Plum embossing powder to some of the edges by rubbing it on the edge of my Versamark pad.

Total supplies used are listed below. Here's one more shot of the inside back section, kind of a closeup showing off Brittany, isn't she awesome!

  • Stamps: Brittany & Lily (Simply Betty Stamps)
