Sweet 'n Sassy stamps Digi Challenge!

I'm playing along with this weeks Quote inspiration challenge from Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge blog!

Create a card/project using the quote,
"Sweet April showers do spring May flowers" - Thomas Tusser

I used the new Butterfly& Flower digi image from the SNSS shop.  The flower is gorgeous and perfect for coloring!  I pulled my copics back out for this one so I could make some nice flicking motions for blending.  After the image was totally colored I went back over the flower in Inka Gold gold paint and parts of the butterfly with Inka Gold Copper using a watercolor brush and a bit of water.

I also added Crushed Bronze Glass glitter from Stampendous! to the center of the flower with a tombo glue pen for some extra sparkle!

My layout is based on this weeks Deconstructed sketch.  Papers are from Cosmo Cricket.

Thanks for stopping in!  Blog Hop with SBS in just a few hours so check back :)

Challenge List:
Pile it on: sparkle and shine
The Pink Elephant: use yellow
Craft us Crazy: favorite (new to me) stamp company

I added a bit of glitz to her with my Gelly Roll glitter pen too :)

Yee Haw!

Are you enjoying our week of previews from Simply B Stamps?  I sure hope so cause we all are!  I am back tonight with the next Jude and the Rockers Just for Fun image...Yee Haw Ali.  She is just so precious in her denim skirt and cowgirl hat :)

I puled out more of the new Basic Grey PB&J papers for this one and used Karen Giron's Sweet Sketch Sunday for the layout.  My blue panel was cuttlebugged with a Sizzix Gridlock embossing folder.  Flowers and ribbon are from my stash.  Sentiment from The Cat'sPajamas.

Here's the colors of Spectrum Noir markers that I used:

OK, so please be sure to hop over to the Simply B Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT has rounded up for you today!  And don't forget that this Friday is release day!

Here's Karen's sketch if you want to play:

Giddy up!

I'm back tonight with another new Jude and the Rockers Just for Fun preview for you!  This is Giddy Up Oscar riding to town on his hobby horse.  This new line of Judes will be available this Friday from Simply B Stamps.  We hope you've enjoyed the peeks so far!

Papers are from the new Basic Grey PB&J line, and the strip was die cut with new Petite Petals border die from Lifestyle Crafts.  And I even found the perfect sentiment in my stash from a really old Cat's Pajamas set.  My layout for the card is this weeks Sketch Challenge at Split Coast Stampers.

Again my image was colored with Spectrum Noir markers by Crafter's Companion.  Color chart below:

Challenge List:
Crafty Sentiments: for a child
Wags and Whiskers: anything goes
Inspire me Fridays: linky party
Make It Monday: linky party
Paperplay: animal antics

Dr. Brittany

Sorry I didn't get my preview posted last night.  We had a very unexpected death in the family yesterday.  My Godmother Rubye lost her son to leukemia.  I have been very close to her all my life even though I did not know her son that well.  Please include her and her family in your prayers this week if you would.

So this morning I am sharing with you Dr Brittany!  How adorable is she?  My kids never really doctored their stuffed animals and dolls, but they sure did play with them.  Brittany is another of the 6 new stamps in the Jude and the Rockers Just for Fun Collection being released this Friday from Simply B Stamps.

I wanted some soft colors for her so I chose to use more of the Little Yellow Bicycle line that I used for my last card.  The sentiment is from an old Verve Stamps set.

Once again I used my new Spectrum Noir markers for this image and I am very pleased at how they are working!  I did find that my digi images need to dry before coloring with the speccies longer than with copic markers.  But otherwise they blend beautifully!  Here's the colors that I used:

OK, so hop over to the SImply B Stamps blog to see more inspiration from our DT with this cutie!  And we will have a new image to share with you tonight so be sure to check back!

Challenge List:
Crafty Emma: Button It
Crafty sentiments: for a child
Belli Challenge: children
Lexi Creations: punches or dies
Crafter's Companion: four legged friends

Introducing Chef Ariel

Its preview week again at Simply B Stamps and we have the first of our Jude and the Rockers Just for Fun line to share with you today...meet Chef Ariel!  She reminds me of my youngest daughter Rachael who loves to bake!

This is also one of my first cards using the new Spectrum Noir alcohol markers from Crafter's Companion  so I thought I'd share with you the colors that I chose.  The speccies are very similar to copics but there are a few differences, mainly the price point, at only $2 per marker!

I will be sharing lots more about these markers in the months to come since I will be one of the DT members so be on the lookout!  But for now, back to my card!

Here's a closer look at Ariel.  After I colored her I cut her out and mounted her on some Nesting Ovals from QuicKutz for Lifestyle Crafts.  My papers are by Little Yellow Bicycle.  The border die is also from LSC, a new one called Petite Petals.

Be sure to check back all week for a new little Jude and the Rockers cutie preview from me and don't forget to stop over to the SBS blog and see what the rest of the DT has created all week!  We will be ending with our Blog Hop and prizes this Friday at noon PST!

Party Hat Kiddo

Good morning! I'm finally recouping from the week of fun in Florida with my hubby on his business conference for Texas Roadhouse.  It was great to spend time with all the NC Roadies!  BUT since Ive been gone I didn't create anything for todays Stampendous! Upcycle challenge.  Head over to the Stampendous! blog to play along!  You still have almost 2 weeks!

Here's this weeks list of DT playing along so go leave them so love!

I do however have a card to share with you that I created for the Stampendous! April catalog.  I used the new Party Hat Kiddo, coming soon to a store near you, one of 5 new Kiddos!  She was colored with copic markers then sprinkled with lots of  Multi UF crystal glitter!  I then cut her out with Nesting Scallop Circles from QuicKutz for Lifestyle Crafts.

ALSO, a message from the Stampendous! blog:

"We’re so excited to announce that our very own Fran Seiford will be appearing on the United Kingdom’s ONLY dedicated Craft Channel – Create and Craft TV!Fortunately for us here in the U.S. we can watch online as she shows all of Britain her fantastic Encrusted Jewel Technique using our new Fran•táge Embossing Enamels to create dazzling and elegant cards with a simple sprinkle and heat!

For my card today I was in the mood for bright flowers so I dry embossed Blossom and Cherry Blossom stencils onto Aluminum Teal and Aluminum Fuchsia metal sheets by Merc Art that Dreamweaver Stencils carries.  I cut them out and then added black dots with my Black copic marker.  The sentiment is from Stampendous, embossed with Onyx Black Versafine ink by Tsukineko and Clear EP from Stampendous!

By the Sea...

Since I am in Florida all week I had to preschedule some cards for your viewing pleasure :)  And I thought that the new Mermaid Kiddo was a perfect choice considering that today I am swimming with the Dolphins at Discovery Cove in Orlando!

This little doll is one of 5 new stamps in the kiddo line from Stampendous! and will be available soon at your local stores!  I created her for the April catalog and had to share!  She is stamped in Memento ink and colored with Copic markers then cut out with Nesting Frames by Lifestyle Crafts.

Here's a closer peekie at her...

At the bottom of the main panel (as well as in her hair and inside my shell) I have used Taupe Color Fragments that I dyed turquoise, Lavender, and Green with Copic reinkers.

My background was stamped with Cling Shell background and embossed with white EP.  The sentiment  at the bottom of the Easel card was stamped and embossed with white EP using By The Sea stamp and then I cut out the piece I needed.  The shell is cut from the Shell background stamp.

I hope you're having a great week!  I'll be back soon :)  Thanks for coming by today! -Cyndi

Stampendous! and Dreamweaver Stencils Blog Hop!!

Get ready to be inked, pasted, encrusted, stenciled and stamped! All of this week the Dreamweaver Stencils' Dream Team and the Stampendous Design Teams will be providing some "Dream-pendous" inspiration for you, with multiple opportunities to win some fabulous prizes from both companies. Each day this week, you will be directed from both the Stampendous Impressions' blog or the Dream It Up! blog to the players du jour for your oohing and aaahing pleasure. Everyone will be playing on Saturday, the 14th with our final hop for the week. This is your opportunity to see how to mix and mingle your creativity...if you are a stenciler, you will be fascinated at combining stamps with your first love. If you are a stamper, you will be wowed at how stencils can add to your impressions.

If you arrived here from Krissy's blog then you are right on target! If not then start at the Dream  It Up blog for a day of Dream-pendous inspiration!

For my card today I really wanted to try the technique that Pam had on her blog the other day.  I only got part way through but liked the effect as is so I left it.  I started by using Copper Paste on the Dreamweaver Stencils Open Butterfly stencil and let that dry.  Then I did another layer of Crackle paste on the top and let that dry.  Next I added Antique Linen distress ink over the top with a sponge dauber and quickly poured Clear EP and heated it.

Over the top I stamped Butterfly Post from Stampendous! in distress ink and wiped away the ink over the embossed butterfly.  My background panel is ripped at the bottom and then I added some Versamark ink and Shabby Green Embossing Enamel with touches of Bronze Glass Glitter and Sage Color Fragments.  For a great video on the Encrusted Jewel Technique go HERE.

As a final touch I inked the Thank You stencil with Cosmic Copper ink by Tsukineko then embossed that with Clear EP from Stampendous!

OK, from here hop over to Jingle's blog!

Here's the hop order in case you got lost along the way...Bes sure to leave everyone some love!!

Dreamweaver Stencils Stampendous! Hop Week!

Welcome back to another day of hopping with the Dreamweaver Stencils and Stampendous! gals.  I hope you're enjoying this Dreampendous week!  For today's card I used the Confetti background stencil with Glossy Red embossing Paste on my white background panel.  (For a tutorial on pasting see the post below)

I also used the Red Glossy Paste on the Make a wish sentiment from the Birthday Words stencil.

My main panel was stamped with one of the new Kiddo Stamps from Stampendous! coming soon to a store near you.  This one is Balloon Kiddo.  I colored him with my new Spectrum Noir markers!  To the balloons I added Glossy Accents to coordinate with the glossy paste.

Spectrum Noir markers used:
Skin: FS2, FS5, FS6
Hair: TN5, TN7
Balloons & clothes: DR1, DR4, CR7
IB1, IB2, IB3, CG2, CG4, CT1, CT4

Be sure to hit all the stops on the hop today and leave everyone some love!

See my post from Tuesday for all the prize info :)

My first Paper Craft Planet Tutorial!

Today I am sharing a tutorial for Dreamweaver Stencils on Papercraft Planet as part of a two month Dreamweaver Stencils Tutorial series.   Today I am going to show you how to emboss with Paste.

And don't forget Dreamweaver Stencils will be giving out a stencil each week throughout our Tutorial Series to one random commenter!  Head HERE to leave a comment for a chance to win!
First gather all of your supplies: Stencils, paste, removable tape, palette knife, spreader, paper towels, shallow pan of water, and soft scrub brush.
Begin by placing your stencil on cardstock or pattern paper and tape across the top of the stencil first.  This will be your "hinge" and the last piece to be removed.  Next tape the other 3 sides.
Place palette knife into your paste jar and get a good healthy amount (the excess will go back in the jar later so don't skimp)
I am using a large A2 size stencil so I am also using a large spreader.  I scraped the paste across the edge of the spreader at about the width of my stencil.
Lay the spreader at a 90 degree angle at the top of the stencil about halfway on the middle of the tape.  Bring the spreader to about a 45-60 degree angle and swipe down across the cardstock until you reach the top of the bottom piece of tape.  Swoop the spreader up.  Remove excess from spreader with palette knife then add back to jar.  Wipe off the lip of the jar so you don't get crusties in your paste!  Close jar.
Hopefully you covered all the open areas in one sweep, if not add a touch of paste to the open areas then swipe with the spreader in the opposite direction.
Remove tape taking off the last piece first and leaving your hinge piece until last.  Carefully lift the stencil while the hinge is still in place in case you drop it :)
Immediately place stencil, spreader, and palette knife in a shallow pan of water.  Use a soft scrub brush to remove the excess paste.  Make sure you scrub the stencil while flat.  Dry stencils on flat paper towels or old t-shirt.  Don't bend your stencil or you will be unhappy later!
For the details of my card... I used papers from Authentique, and ribbons from May Arts, Papertrey Ink, and Fancy Pants.  Here's a closeup look at the Flourish stencil.  I used Glossy White paste for the flourish and the Dream sentiment.
I hope you enjoyed today's tutorial!  Be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win, and be sure to check out last week's tutorial from our fearless DT leader, Pam!  A new tutorial will be up next Thursday for your stenciling pleasure.
Also, be sure to hop over to the Dream It Up blog all this week for our Dreamweaver Stencils/Stampendous! collaboration and to find out about more ways to win prizes!
