Dream Team Thursday

Happy Thursday!  We are over the hump of the week and almost to the weekend!  Today is Challenge Day at Dreamweaver Stencils and we would LOVE for you to play along!  It doesn't have to be a DW stencil that you use, but we sure love to see them!

Continuing with our Valentine theme for the month I pulled out LL3011 Love Birds stencil for my main panel.  I used my favorite new technique, the double glitter technique!  So cool, blingy and messy!

First, grab your stencil and on the back side rub some Vegetable Oil Soap (I used Coconut Soap)all over it to coat the metal.

Be sure to take a brush and wipe away excess clumps.

Cut a piece of double sticky paper, also called Snap and Peel to the size desired.  Pull off one side and attach to cardstock piece.  Pull off other side and lay the stencil with the soap side DOWN on the sticky paper.

Now begin adding your glitter.  I chose to use 2 colors, so I carefully added the coors using a cut off straw and tapping the excess in the direction AWAY from the blank sticky part.

AFter all the openings are filled, carefully peel the paper from the stencil, being careful not to bend the stencil.  Next add a whole layer of clear, white, or black etc to the remaining stickiness!

For my background panel I used the Large Damask stencil LXLX7001 and ran it though my cuttlebug.  I started with a black glitter background panel, but couldn't decide so I did it with Multi Crystal as well.  Here's the first version with the black:

The border at the bottom of the black damask panel was cut with Cheerly Lynn Designs Tiffany border.  Flowers are Mini Rolled roses from My Favorite Things, and all glitter is from Stampendous!

My layout is based on this weeks sketch challenge from Split Coast Stampers.

I hope you play along with us this week!  And be sure to check out the rest of the Dream Teams creations and spread some love to them all!
