My card for today uses one of the newest Jumbo Cling sets, Jumbo Hollyhock. I was a bit afraid of this stamp at first until I colored it, and oh my goodness I fell in love! for this card though instead of coloring the flowers I used the painting with powder technique with Vintage Olive, Vintage Plum, and Vintage Lilac Embossing Tinsels. I also stamped Calligraphy Sampler in Victorian Velvet ink on the backgrund light plum layer.
Here's a close look at the flowers, the PWP technique is a great way to subtly shift between colors.
My sentiment is Cling Wings of Eagles embossed in Vintage Olive Embossing Tinsel. I used my jumbo scallop scissors across the top of this piece as well as 2 of the corners of the flower part. And of course the finishing touch on the card is the beautiful May Arts magenta silk bow in the top corner.
Beautiful card, Cyndi! Might have to have those hollyhocks! Techinique is really lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe hollyhocks are beautiful, but I'm not sure what the painting with powders technique is. Could you please explain?
ReplyDeleteThanks
