Go mad with Embossing!

Its go mad with embossing this week at Fab'n'Funky!  And since I am so into all the new fun I've been having with my Stampendous! embossing powders, tinsels and chunky glitters I thought I would share another Stampendous! card with you today!

I used the new Stampendous! Cling Jumbo Merry Magical set and embossed the JUMBO sentiment in Ruby Red embossing powder on a speckled ivory background.  Before I stamped it I had it pre-misted with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Aspen Yellow and Peppermint Candy.  I also added some Iridescent Gold after it was embossed.

The set also comes with a lovely huge snowflake-y swirl which I stamped in  a mustard/gold ink.  Last I added some of Stampendous' new Gold Crystal Halo Glitter in spots.  Along the bottom edge, which was punched with an EK Success border punch I also sprayed some of the Gold Glimmer Mist.  Background paper is from Graphic 45 and ribbons are from May Arts.

Be sure to join our challenge this week...you have til next Tuesday night!

AND don't forget just a few more days to win my BLOG CANDY!!

Stampendous! Saturday and BLOG CANDY

Woo Hoo!!  Its Saturday again and time for my last weekly Blog Candy from Stampendous!  Its been a GREAT few weeks of giveaways hasn't it!!  Before I get to this week's project the winner of last week's Jumbo Merry & Magical set is #10 JenD!  Congrats!!  Shoot me an email with your snail mail!

Now, onto my card for today.  I used another new Jumbo Christmas set, this one is Jumbo Pine Drift.  I am soooo in love with these new Jumbo Cling sets, and if you haven't seen there are 6 brand new sets on the Stampendous! website that just arrived last week!  This makes a total of 11 new Christmas jumbos for lots of card making fun!

I started by stamping the tree in Vintage Olive Embossing Tinsel then cut the tree out and popped it up on my background.  The background was created on Bazzill bling cardstock stamped with the snowy swirl from the same set and embossed in Opaque White EP.

I added Ocean Spray Jewel Glitter to the ornaments with a Quickie glue pen then also a few little Diamond Dot Silver circle Class-a-Peel stickers.

I also added  a few of the Diamond dots to my sentiment, "Merry Magical" which was also embossed with the Vintage Olive Embossing Tinsel, then cut out with Spellbinders Labels 10.

So, how do you win this gorgeous set??  This week I want you to leave me a comment but ALSO, please click the "Follow" button to the left if you're not already following me!  I will pick a random winner (US entries only please) next Friday night!  And starting next Saturday we have something new and fun planned with the Stampendous! gals!!

Getting Sketchy...

We are getting sketchy at Simply Betty Stamps Challenge blog this week!  All you have to do is use any sketch you want!  How easy is that??  You don't even have to use a Simply Betty image (of course we lurve when you do!!)  AND you have 2 weeks!!

Here's what I came up with using one of the new SBS Teen Scene Halloween images: Mummy London!  I am so in love with this image, maybe its the cat?

Here's a closeup of her, and the sentiment is new from Stampendous! called Haunty Halloween.  For my sketch I chose Jen's Deconstucted sketch which you can see below:

OK, so I had to share what the FABULOUS prize is for this weeks challenge at Simply Betty...its this new Addams Family Portrait stamp in rubber!

Also, while you're at the Challenge blog: you can also do last week's Scrappy Challenge to make a treat container!  (Challenges are open for 2 weeks)  And the fabulous prize for THAT is your very own BLINKIE!!  How cool is that?  Did you see my new one Betty designed for me on my sidebar?!!

OK, so what are you waiting for?!  Go get stampy!  -Cyndi

Create a Tag & Update

This week's Pixie Dust Studio challenge #89: "Tag You're It" is to create a tag or use a tag on something.

I didn't get a chance to play this week because I have a whole lot on my plate right now, and sadly I will be stepping down from the Pixies.  I am going to miss them all tremendously, but I have to go back to the working world again and therefore lighten my DT duites :(

BUT, I do have one last card to share as a team member.  Its not for this challenge, but I never posted it here for some silly reason.  This is "Walter's Jammies" from the Winter Collection.  Its in the Pixie Dust Studio shop along with the newest release Candy Jar!

Here's a closeup of the little cutie, and then below a peek at the inside of the triangle fold card.  My papers are from Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather Collection.

I want to thank Kathy again for having me on her wonderful team for the last year and more!  I will miss you and all the Pixies but I won't be far away!

Well, summer officially comes to a close for us today.  School starts back tomorrow and all the activities are already in full force.  No more lazy days for things like fishing (not that we fish, LOL)

But I just had to pull out this cute little new guy from Inky Impressions for this last lazy day.  This is Christopher's Catch!  I mean, how sweet is that little face?  I found some old K & co paper in my stash that was perfect for him, added a bit of colored twill and some stickles.  The sentiment is also new from Inky Impressions.

Challenges:
ColourQ: colors
Papertake Weekly: Dies to Die for

Thanks for popping in!  -Cyndi

We are Family...

Its Release day at Simply Betty Stamps and The Addams Family is in the house!
First up for you today is The Addams Family Portrait. Gomez, Morticia, and Wednesday...I mean Christian, Betty and London!

My kids are all like, who are they?  OMG.  I know they saw the newest movie at least.  Geesh.  Icon of my childhood.  My portrait is colored with copics, then I added a touch of Stampendous! Multi glitter.  The background paper is a piece from the Basic Grey Eerie collection, and I embossed the corners with a flourish from the Stampendous! Damask Chair set with Midnight Black EP.

And next, the couple of the hour...Betty and Christian...this is Spooky Couple!  You can also get Christian (Gomez) or Betty (Morticia) as individuals.

After I colored my image with copics I sponged the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink in Dusty Concord, then sprayed it with Pewter Shimmer Spritz  from Tsukineko.   These are my FAVORITE new Spritzes...they don't clog and they aren't too opaque.   I also sponged a touch of Brilliance Moonlight White around the edges.

My spiderweb was embossed with the spiderweb Cuttlebug folder on more of the Eerie pattern paper.  I then gently ran my Brilliance Moonlight White Dew Drop over the raised part of the web to give it some gorgeous shimmer.  ANd then here's a closeup shot of the Spooky Couple.

OK, now hurry on over to the Simply Betty Stamps web store to pick up a handful of the new Teen Scene stamps!   Also be sure to hop by the SBS blog to see lots more samples and the rest of the release!

Thanks so much for coming by today!  I appreciate your visits and your comments :)  And don't forget that I have Blog candy up for grabs still this week at THIS POST.

Stampendous! Saturday and BLOG CANDY

Its time for another round of Stampendous! Blog Candy!  Are you guys loving this yet?!!  Stampendous! has been so generous letting us all give away SO many stamps this month!!

Today, I am dreaming of a pink Christmas!  I'm still playing with Fran's  Encrusted Jewel Technique and loving it!!  This week I started with a pink pattern background paper then embossed my main image (sentiment) in Bright Pink Embossing Powder.

Around the edges of that panel I stamped parts of the snow flurry/flourish piece from the same Cling Jumbo Merry Magical set  in Champagne ink, then embossing parts with Shabby White Embossing Enamel.  (I did the same on the edges of the fuchsia card base. )  After that I added some Clear Deep Impressions powder around the edges of the main panel, along with some  Silver Crushed Glass Glitter, some Shaved Ice, and Pearlized Mica Fragments.

Here's a better shot of how all the lovely glitters and micas become embedded when heated together.  If you missed the technique, you can view Fran's How To video HERE.

I hope you are enjoying this lovely new technique straight from the Stampendous! booth at CHA, along with all the brand new fun Jumbo Cling sets and other Fran'tage new releases.  Today I am giving away (courtesy of Stampendous!) the set that I used for this project:

Toot Toot Thursday

Its From the Crypt Thursday!  Or rather from Hogwarts...

Every Thursday we are trying to spotlight some of our not-so-newly released images that you may have missed seeing or haven't seen in a long while.  I wanted to pull out my beloved Harry Potter images that Betty released a number of weeks back.  They were previewed on The Burtonesque Dolls Challenge blog, so if you don't play along there you might just have not seen this magical release!!

I had plans of creating a Hogwarts mini album, but I was just not feeling it.  So...I thought I would adhere the boo pages together and create a Hogwarts scene, reminiscent of the constantly winding and changing staircases at Hogwarts.  My papers are a combo of the Harry Potter line from Creative Imaginations and 2 lines from Graphic 45: Halloween in Wonderland and Steampunk Debutante.

First 2 wizards are 2 of the red headed Weasleys...here's Ginny and Ron.  Ron has to be my favorite of these images...I just love his face!

Next is Hermione Granger the smart one with the sassy look on her face and who is supposed to be Pansy Parkinson, but I forgot and colored her more like Luna Lovegood!  (oops)

And lastly, here is Harry Potter himself, scar and all.  He's of course accompanied by his good buddy Hedwig.  In this release was also Professor McGonagall, but I ran out of room.

Be sure to head over to the Simply Betty Stamps  store and pick up a handful of wizardly fun!  And don't forget to check over at the Challenge Blog tomorrow for our newest Scrap Team Challenge!

Unforgettable...In every way

Its time for a new Inky Impressions challenge and this week we want to see something inspired by song lyrics!  Every time I look at this "unfrogettable" sentiment I would sing the old Nat King Cole Song, "Unforgettable", so this was an easy pick for me!!

I used the newly released Mischievous Christopher from Inky Impressions,  Just love him :)  For my card layout I used this months SFYTT from Jen del Muro.  My papers are a combo of October Afternoon and Cosmo Cricket.

We hope you join us over the next fortnight in our musical challenge!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping in!
