The Royal Queen

Its release day at Pixie Dust Studio! Get ready for the British Invasion!

For my card today I used the image "The Royal Queen", one of 6 images in this collection! My kids actually asked me if she was supposed to be Delores Umbridge, LOL (must be the pink jacket)

I went a bit shabby on this one adding some lace that I antiqued with a Tim Holtz distress Old Paper pad. Also all edges of the pattern papers are distressed both with a distressing tool and ink. Paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle. I thought this would make a nice Mothers Day card for a Grandma so I added the sentiment from a Close to My Heart set.

Here's the whole shebang for you to see...also head to the Pixie Dust Studio blog for more samples! Head straight over after that to the Pixie Studio to pick up your Royal images.

Challenge List:
Cupcake Crafts Challenge: Flowers for Mum
Stamp Something: Spring Somethings
Tellen's Place: texture (lace, distressing)
Bee Crafty: Spring Florals

Happy shopping this morning! Head to the Pixie Dust Store to pick up your British Invasion stamps! And don't forget you still have almost 2 whole days to play along with this weeks challenge :)

Clean and SImple and Monochromatic

I know, two thins you NEVER hear from me...clean and simple OR monochromatic. Both are very hard for me...I love lots of color and lots of layers!

But I took on 2 main challenges with this one, to keep it simple for this weeks Splitcoast Stampers CAS challenge (to use cut up sentiments) and to stay with one color and neutrals, the challenge at Catch the Bug this week.

This is the chosen one, from the Har Repotter collection no less, by Bugaboo Stamps. Ive chosen to keep him mainly in tones of grays to match my Creative Imaginations Harry Potter paper. I threw in a touch of burgundy for my color (Gryffindor colors).

The sentiment I created on my mac, its a quote from The Goblet of Fire. Other supplies used: Petite Oval Nestabilties, Zig zag border punch by EK, Copic Markers, Creative Impressions ribbon.

Challenge List:
Splitcoast Stampers: CAS112 Cut up Sentiments
Catch the Bug: Monochromatic
Pile it On: Cutie Patootie
Cards for Men: Embossing (the punch embosses)
Meljen's: Punches
Digital Tuesday: for the kids

OK, I am signing off for the night. Must get little one to bed. He's giving us trouble getting up in the morning lately. Sigh.

Live it Up!

I have cake and cupcakes on the brain this week since Michael's bday party is this weekend. Yum. I'm in love with this cupcake from Stampendous! and thought it would be a fun perch for Changito to hang out on! For this page I used the most adorable subject, my friend Heather's baby gril!

The page was created with new papers from the Its your Day line by Nikki Sivils. I will be carrying part of this line in my store, check back later today at The Scrappychick Boutique.

1. Cut cupcake paper to 11.5" x 5" and mat on Java Bazzill cardstock. adhere to left of page. Mat 6"x8" photo on pink Bazzill cardstock and adhere to page slightly skewed. Cut banner out of NS paper and adhere to top of page.

2. Stamp Changito from Stampendous! Changito Sports Perfectly Clear set onto white cardstock approx 4"x6". Mask him then stamp the Stampendous! Cling Cupcake XL under Changito. Color with Copic markers (or preferred coloring medium). Mat on Blue and Java Bazzill cardstock.

3. Stamp "live it up" from Stampendous! Whoop it Up Perfectly Clear Stamps in Versamark ink on white cardstock. emboss with Stampendous! Pomegranate embossing powder. Add small confetti from same set around sentiment and around the Changito piece.

4. Add Stampendous! Dot Sparklers Class-a-Peel stickers in various colors as desired. Adhere Changito piece and tag piece to page. Add some Multi Ultra Fine Crystal Glitter if desired using a Quickie glue pen. (I added glitter to cupcake and banner)

Easy peasy, right? I love adding stamed elements to my layouts and Stampendous! makes it super easy with all the new XL and Jumbo stamps!

Thanks for surfing by today :) -Cyndi

National Craft Month with Stampendous!

Did you see that March is National Craft month? All month long Stampendous! has been sharing a new and fabulous creation every day! Today I just happened to notice that it was one of my cards! How fun :)

Here is the card that I had created for the last Stampendous! Catalog Supplement (Valentines Day, St Patty's, Easter). For the focal point I stamed Stampendous! Decorated Eggs in Versamark ink then embossed it using Fran's technique with Aqua, Periwinkle, and Wintergreen Embossing Powder from Stampendous!

These were then cut out and popped up with dimensional adhesive onto a square of Blue Bazzill cardstock then adhered that to a white piece cut out with Spellbinders Fleur de Lis pendant die. Also used Swimming Pool Bazzill and White ribbon (Creative Impressions)

Hope yo have a great day! I have to finish last minute details for Michael's 8th Birthday party tomorrow :)

Lets Go to the Movies!

Our challenge this week at Pixie Dust Studio is to Go to the Movies! Just create something that is movie inspired :) That is sooooo easy to do with Pixie Dust Studio images, Kathy is a movie nut like me (and happens to have really great taste!)

I used Harry, Ron, and Hermione from the Harry Potter collection available in the Pixie Dust Studio. I paired them with what else, Harry Potter paper by Creative Imaginations that I picked up at Betty's store. Added a few gems, a tag, a sentiment from Stampendous!, lots of metallic rubons by Craft-T-Products and some Glimmer mist.

That's it this morning! I have a scrapbook page to share later today :)

Good ol' Summertime

OK, if you know me you know that I really don't like summer, LOL. Way too hot for my blood. BUT I do love summer things :) And this cute image from Stampendous! is no exception! This is one of two images in the Summer Cuties Perfectly Clear set.

The set also contains 2 cute sentiments to add to your card :)

1. I folded my red card stock base in half. Then I cut 2 random size strips from Daffodil and Butterfly Bazzill cardstock (approx 1.5" x 4.75"). I used a zig zag punch from EK Success to create the bottom border then backed both strips on white Bazzill cardstock.

2. Stamp image from Summer Cuties Perfectly Clear Set with Memento Ink and color with copics. I trimmed very close to the block art design then backed that on Black Bazzill and White Bazzill. Adhere to card base. Stamp sentiment on White Bazzill and mat on Black. Cut at an angle then adhere to base.

3. Stamp stars from Aah Some Fireworks Perfectly Clear set. Color with copics, cut out and adhere to card with dimensional adhesive.

4. Add a touch of glitter to stars and sunglasses (Stampendous! Apple Red, Tigerlily, and Sunflower glitters) with a Quickie Glue pen. Add Stampendous! Red Dot Sparklers Class a Peel stickers to bottom zig zag border and ponytail holders.

Challenge List:
Pile it On: Pearls, and Rhinestones, and Bling
Digi Doodle Shop: Anything Goes
Papercutz Challenge: Anything Goes
Your Next Stamp: Make it Sparkle

Thanks for popping in! Have a wonderful day :) -Cyndi

Just a quickie post this morning with this cute Bugaboo Stamps image, Ava Umbrella. Luckily it fits for this week as well, Baby Child Theme.

She of course still has some scallops on the card, the jumbo scallop die from Spellbinders along with the top of the Nestie. I added a few gems and this adorable sparkly skull that I found in the discount bin at Michael's. Sentiment is A Muse and embossing folder is Tim Holtz Dot Matrix from Sizzix.

That's it for now :) Have a great day! -Cyndi

Jumbo Cling Dahlia

Have you seen the newest Youtube video on the Stampendous! blog?? Its about creating custom papers with the new Jumbo Dahlia cling rubber stamp. Be sure to go check it out!!

I have a card for you today using this same set. I started with some white cardstock that was first spritzed with some Tattered Angels Glimmer mists in Moroccan Sun and Mango. (Let this dry or heat it with a heat gun if impatient) Then with my Dahlia I stamped it on the spritzed card stock in Versamark ink then embossed it with Stampendous! Bark EP.

For the added color inside my Dahlia I rubbed some metallic chalks from Craf-T-Products into the petals. Here is a closeup of the Dahlia so you can see how pretty the colors all combine together.

I also stamped the Dahlia and embossed it with Stampendous! Copper powder on my backgrund layer (which was pre-printed paper from Bo Bunny and added a lovely extra texture). Then with the added flourish in the Jumbo Cling Dahlia set I added some random bits to a scrap of Copper cardstock and embossed that in copper.

My Knight in Shining Armor

Just a fun challenge card for you today. This week's theme at Fab 'n' Funky is "Make it Girly" and I just HAD to use Lily as Rapunzel and Prince Billy images from Pink Cat Studio (especially since Pink Cat is sponsoring this weeks challenge) Head over to the Pink Cat blog to see more Girly inspiration as well!

For the card I had to resize Rapunzel larger to get her just right for me (the true beauty of digis!!) So my card ending up being 5 1/4 x 7 1/4. I used Quite Contrary paper from My Minds Eye for the card base and the accents. Buttons are by Basic Grey, flower from Prima.

Here's Billy charging to the rescue of his lovely Princess.

And of course Rapunzel herself (as played by the charming Lily) I added quite a bit of distressing to the papers and images with Tim Holtz ink in Brushed Corduroy, Victorian Velvet, and Old Paper. Also used Versacolor Celedon ink and sentiment by Stampendous!

Narcissus

Happy Tuesday! Hoping to see lots more sunshine today :) I have a card today I made for the Stampendous! 2011 Winter Catalog. This is using one of the new beautiful flower sets released this year called Narcissus.

I used a greeting from the Sincere Sentiments Perfectly clear set. The pretty lacey ribbon is from Creative Impressions. I colored the flowers to pick up the color scheme in the pp from Graphic 45.

Here's a side view so you can see that one of the flowers is raised as well as the sentiment piece with its layers. Its also easier to see where I added some dimension to the centers of the flowers with some Stampendous! Honey embossing powder, applied using a Versamark pen.

YOU make Good Times Great!!

I have another quick card for you today! Its was feeling awful springy to me so I picked some fun cheery colors and cute Deacon on his Swing. He was a freebie from Bugaboo Stamps a couple of weeks back and I absolutely ADORE the Ava & Deacon line of stamps from Bugaboo!!

I started colring him for the green theme last week, but he didn't get done in time. Love the way the colors turned out though :) So luckily I get to use him for this week's "Anything Goes" challenges at the Catch the Bug Challenge blog.

The sentiment on the tag is from Hero Arts. Copics are pictured below. I printed him 3 times and cut out the extra 2 tree tops to put above the main image then moved the strip part of the sketch up so I could make it the tree branch :)

Stamp Something: digi Day
Fab n Funky: Spring Into Action
Cute Card Thursday: Signs of Spring
Do You Stack Up?: Just Green It
