Gelli printing in my Dylusions Mini Journal

Here's a page for you that I did in my Mini Journal a few weeks ago but never got around to blogging about for some reason.

I began by playing around with my Gelli plate for the first time...yeah me!!  On top of the Gelli background I stamped a small border in Archival then added some cut outs from new Dylusions sets...This Old House, Day of the Heads, and Pin Up Queen.  I stamped my images on watercolor paper then colored them with Dylusions ink.

Hope you enjoy!  I'm at a weekend of classes with Dyan Reaveley, Wendy Vecchi, Canvas Corp, Petaloo, Maya Road and more!  Pics to come soon!

Shattered Circles Flowers

A couple of weeks ago I taught my first Pan Pastels class at Betty's.  It was an all day affair and tons of fun.  After we worked in our Visual Journals learning new techniques we put some of those techniques to use in creating this small canvas.

The flowers were created with Julie Fei-Fan Balzer's Shattered Circles stencils from The Crafter's Workshop.  The larger ones were done with the 12x12 version using Molding Paste and then painted over with the Pan Pastels. The smaller ones were done with the same stencil in the 6x6 version and we painted directly through the stencil.

Inside circles are book text punched out.  Stems were free painted and the leaves were stenciled with Dyan Reaveley's newest Leaf Flourish stencil.

The sentiment on the tag is from a relatively new Tim Holtz set called Way with Words.

Here's a few pics from the class:

I had a fun crowd this day, Lynn, Kathy, Sharon, Judy, Peggy, and Dow.

That's a lot of Pan Pastel love going on!

If you'd like to schedule a Pan Pastel class, leave me a comment and we'll schedule one on the store.  I can also travel to you if you are in the Carolinas area but not local and can gather some friends.

Today in keeping with our Awesome Autumn challenge theme of the month I created a simple card with some fall colors.  I used the Bare Trees Stencil which was sprayed with Amaretto Memories Mist  and then dry embossed onto pattern paper from Prima.

I added a touch of glitter for leaves using Hologram UF glitter from Art Glitter with a glue pen.  My sentiment was stamped with A Journey of a Thousand Miles.

Stampendous Jumbo Leaves Journal page

Today I have a journal page that I created last week featuring the new Jumbo Leaves from Stampendous.  I wanted to play with mixing Glimmer Mist sprays and my Pan Pastels and the clear FREE masks that come with the new Jumbo stamps were a perfect pairing!

I began by placing the leaf masks over my blank journal page and then spraying Glimmer Mists on top then moving the masks and repeating.

I then swiped some light color Pan Pastels across the page and then sponged more Pan Pastels through the Quatrefoil stencil from The Crafter's Workshop by Ronda Palazzari.  Here's a closer look at the masked effect on the finished page:

I also stamped a few of the Jumbo Leaves on the background in Distress ink:

On the side of the page is a piece of Kraft damask cardstock from Canvas Corp that I sprayed with more Glimmer Mist, glued to my page with Beacon Fast Finish, and continued my Pan Pastel stenciling onto.

Finally for the focal point I stamped a bunch of the leaves onto a text print from Bazzill in Versamark and then added a mix of Aged Spice, Aged Scarlet, and Aged Bronze Embossing Enamel to and heated.

I cut these leaves out and added them as a cluster to my page and added a sentiment cutout from Canvas Corp.

Hope you enjoy!  Be sure to check the Stampendous blog for links to more of our DT's fall peeks this week!

I am thankful for...

I'm back today with another Stampendous fall preview.  My background was created with the Leaf background stamp, a stencil, and some distress ink and paint.

I began by stenciling the page with Distress paint colors through Tile Texture  stencil from The Crafter's Workshop.  I then inked the Leaf stamp with Distress ink and rolled portions of it all over the background without using a block.

I also added a tag for my journaling with one of the pumpkins from Damask Pumpkins stamp.

I've created an autumn card for you today in keeping with our Autumn challenge theme this month at Dreamweaver Stencils.

My focal point is the large Pumpkin stencil which was done in Copper Paste with eye of the Tiger and Kiwi Metallic FX powders using the Molten Magic technique.  I pasted the pumpkin over a background of the music score stamp from the Crows stamp set.

And I added a crow from the Crows set as well:

My panel behind the pumpkin was created with the new Lace Rectangle stencil using versamark ink and more of the Metallic FX powders.

Stampendous Fall Peek

Good morning!  Fall is almost here and when I think of fall a colorful array of leaves comes first to my mind.  This new  Leaf  background stamp  is the perfect way to add leaves to any background or to use as the focal point!

I stamped the  leaf background  three times, twice onto Bazzill calligrahy patterned paper and once onto Brown cardstock.  Both were stamped in Versamark ink.  The one on the Brown cardstock is embossed with Aged Hunter embossing Enamel, and the one on the Caligraphy paper is embossed with a combo of Aged Hunter, Aged Spice, and Aged Scarlet.

Stay tuned all this week for more peeks of Stampendous' newest fall images!  Be sure to check the Stampendous blog for links to our designer's creations.

Fall Fun with Dreamweaver Stencils and Art Glitter

Ready to be sparkly? This month is our annual collaboration between Dreamweaver Stencils and Art Glitter, and we promise double the glitter and double the fun! Follow the trail of bling all of this month on the Art Glitter blog, and the Dream It Up! blog. Play along with the monthly challenge of "Awesome in Autumn" and link your creations to the linkytool on the Dream It Up! Thursday posts for a chance to win some stupendous stencils and glamorous glitter! As if that wasn't cool enough, Art Glitter is offering a 20% discount this month if you use the code DW20!

I went with a Halloween color theme this week and incorporated the adorable Open Owl stencil with one of our brand new Dreamweaver dies!  My Owl was done with the double glitter technique using Art Glitter Crystal as well as colors from the Court Jester and Glitter Garden kits.

Here's a closer look at the cute little Halloween Owl:

He's perched on a branch that I created by cutting the Large Leafless Tree die and then snipping off most of the branches so I could turn it sideways to make a branch.  I also added a touch more glitter to the branches with my Quickie Glue pen.

My background paper as well as the sticker words are from Echo Park's Chillingsworth Manor Collection.  (Note I managed to add some glitter to the stickers as well!)

Check out this week's awesomeness which includes our super sparkly guest designer and previous Dream Team member...

Pan Pastels meet Ronda Palazzari's Fancy Feathers

Sunday I taught my first Pan Pastels class at Betty's and we had so much fun!  I wanted to share one of the pages from my teaching journal with you today before I label the page with notes for my next class.

When demoing this page I wanted to show layering with lighter colors of the Pan Pastels then adding Versamark through a stencil with a slightly darker color.  The first part of the page was working beautifully, then the next layer I added looked kind of yuck.  But as I kept adding the feathers to the page and blending the colors, I ended up loving the final piece!

The Fancy Feathers stencil is by Ronda Palazzari for The Crafter's Workshop and it was perfect for the background of this technique.  I kept moving the stencil around and adding variations of the same color combo through the different feathers.  The top versamarked layer was done using one of Jaime's stencils from TCW called Tile Texture.  (There is also a small portion stenciled from Dyan Reaveley's newest Leaf Flourish stencil.)  Stamped images from Tim Holtz set's Way with Words and Classics #4
