Flag! You're it!

Its time for the Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge and FLAG, you're it!  I used pennants for my flags across the top corner layering the three pieces from the MFT pennant die.  Papers and chipboard are from My Minds Eye.

I chose the new adorable Pippin's Christmas Lights from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for my image and colored him with my Spectrum Noir markers.  AND he wobbles!!  I used new Action wobble springs for the wee-wobbling!  He's stamped twice...once on the bg piece then colored black, and then again, color him  and cut him out!

Here's a closeup of the pennant flags.

We hope you'll join us this week!  Please remember to use digital images ONLY for the challenge.

Stampendous! New Release Peeks Day 1 & Blog Candy

Welcome to a week of peeks of all the brand new stamps and Fran'tage essentials from the Stampendous! team!  Everyday this week we will be sharing new stuff with you!  Be sure to check the Stampendous! blog daily so you don't miss out on the daily list of who's posting!

The new July Catalog is up for your viewing pleasure, and the individual items should be on the website in the next fews days.  Many of your local stores already have shipments of new product in!

My first tag for you today appeared on the new July catalog. I stamped the Raven Background in Versamark ink then het embossed it with NEW Aged Wine embossing Enamel (my new fav!!)  I then added some pine branches from Jumbo Pine Boughs embossed in Aged Green embossing Enamel.

I then inked over the whole tag in Spiced Marmalade, Cried Marigold, Chipped Sapphire and Vintage Photo using a sponge applicator, added some ribbon and twine from May Arts and volia!

And I wanted to share a tag with you that I created yesterday on a whim combining the Fran'tage style with Dylusions ink sprays.  I was demoing at The Stamp Scrap Art tour with both products and thought it would be fun to combine!  (sorry its a bad pic, its from my phone)

I started by spraying orange, purple, and brown ink onto the tag and drying that.  Then I added a dot mask over the top and spritzed with water for a bleached effect.  Again let dry.  Next I stamped my new Steampunk Owl in Archival Black ink and then removed some color around his eyes with a water pen.

Then comes the fun Fran'taging part!  I scattered some Aged Gold Embossing Enamel under the owl and added some Tea Stained Mica and Black Glass Glitter before I heated it.  I added some color to his buckles with a versamark pen and more Aged Gold EE and to his bowtie with Aged Wine EE.

Lastly I added Cling Clock Works background to the top of the tag embossed in Aged Gold EE.  Pretty fun, huh?  I plan to play more with this double technique soon!

OK, so want to win some NEW Stampendous! goodies?  I have blog candy this week (through Saturday at 12am EST)

Spectrum Noir Christmas in July Blog Hop

A few members of the Spectrum Noir team have gotten together to celebrate Christmas in July!  We have an inspiration-filled blog hop today, along with a few great prizes!  If you have arrived here from Lis's blog, you are in the right place.  If not, pop over to the Spectrum Noir blog so you don't miss a thing!

I used the brand new Mulberry Wood's "Purr-fect Christmas" (from Crafter's Companion) for my focal image today.  Since I'm a bit of a cat nut its fitting :)  And these 3 little kittens are just so darn adorable decorating the tree!

I kept two of my kitties gray, because most of my cats are gray, but I've always had a love for Ginger colored cats so I gave that a try on the center one.

Tip #1: For the tabby look I started with my lightest color all over (TN1) then did small zig-zaggy lines in my darkest color (TN5).  I then went back in on both sides of those like with my medium shade (TN2) and blended into the dark.  I went over the whole cat agin with TN1 but wanted to leave some distinction for his stripes.

I also went back in and made the snowflakes white with  Signo Uniball pen.  My papers are "Merri-mint" from American Crafts and the sentiment is from another new CC Mulberry Wood's set called "Wish Upon a Star".

Spectrum Noir colors used:
Trees: JG6, JG2, JG1, LG4, LG2
Left kitten: BG6, BG5, BG2, BG1
Center Kitten: TN5, TN2, TN1
Right Kitten: IG5, IG3, IG2, IG1
Box: EB4, EB3, TN5
Star: GB3, CT2
Ornaments: CR10, CR8, D6
Sky: IB1

We hope you've been checking out the Spectrum Noir blog - it is full of great tutorials, techniques, and other projects from our design team.  If you haven't been over there, go take a look!  Before we get to the rest of the hop today, let's have a little fun.  How about a prize?  Spectrum Noir is going to award one lucky winner two sets of six markers, a pack of Crafter's Companion Ultra Smooth Premium White card stock (perfect for coloring!), and an adorable stamped called All Wrapped Up, from the new Mulberry Wood line.

Entering to win is easy.  Leave a comment on the Spectrum Noir Blog Hop Post telling us your favorite Spectrum Noir color combination you saw while hopping with us this week (please comment no later then Friday, July 27 at 6:00 PM GMT).  A random winner will be drawn using random.org and posted on our blog at 9:00 AM GMT, Saturday, July 28, 2012, so be sure to check back with us to see if you have won!  The lucky winner will have one week to claim their prize or a second winner will be chosen.

Skipping Stones Tuesday

Its time for a new inspiration challenge at Skipping Stones Design and this week its a color combo and/or trigger photo.  You have all week to enter and one lucky winner will win an SSD stamp set of their choice!  SO go get stamping!

When I spotted the map I thought of this What's Up paper from Basic Grey that just also happened to have balloons, so guess what stamp set got pulled out?  Uplifting!   I started by spraying all my papers with Frost and Copper Sheer Shimmer Spritzs from Tsukineko.  All edges were then inked with Smokey Gray Versafine (Tsukineko).

I then heat embossed my 3 balloons (and the sentiment) with Sepia Versafine and clear EP.  I cut the balloons all out and popped them up with Crafty Foam tape.

Here's a closer shot at the sentiment (one of many from the Uplifting set)

Stampendous and Envirotex Blog Hop

Thanks for joining the Stampendous gals today for a fun hop! We've been enjoying the fun crafting potential of combining our fantastic stamp images with EnviroTex Jewelry Resin from Environmental Technologies. Carmi Cimiata of the Resin Crafts Blog has helped us learn so much about how this product works, what it can and cannot do. We're so appreciative of her and the folks at ETI who sent us all some resin to play with. {big round of applause!}

We've prepared some fantastic projects to inspire you today. We hope you'll run over to your local Michaels or other craft store and pick up some resin and some Stampendous stamps and get playing. If you make something fun, please take a picture and put it on our Facebook page! We'd love to see what you're doing! As you visit each blog, you'll be entered in our drawing for a great prize package when you leave a comment! If you don't tell us you were there by commenting, we can't include you in the drawing! We'll pick a winner from today's comments separate from the commenters throughout the week. Get hoppin!

For my project today I used a new set called Jumbo Snow that should be arriving in local stores any day now!  I started by stamping my background in various sizes of the snowflakes with Versamark ink (from Tsukineko)then heat embossing with Aged Marine Embossing Enamel (also new).

On a small metal edged tag (from my stash from years ago...I think they were from Making Memories) I stamped the large snowflake and heat embossed with the same ink and powder.

Next I poured some of the resin onto the tag, sprinkled on some Champagne Glass Glitter, Steel Blue Glass Glitter, and Pearlized Mica Fragments then topped that off with more resin.  After this dried totally I had to cut a small amount that overflowed from around the edges using my Ranger scissors.

Lastly I matched up the snowflake over the matching one on the cardstock base and glued it on with red line adhesive since its a bit heavy for an embellie.

OK, so here's the hop order, don't forget to comment along the way!

Whats up Pussy Cat?

I totally couldn't resist this last week's challenge from The Cat's Pajamas to use THIS TEMPLATE in TCP Splicoast Stampers page to create a shaped card.  Cause guess what? The first ever Cat's Pajamas stamps that I bought were Sprinkle Annette and Moon Doggie.

I mean just how perfect are they for this fun summer card??  I also used papers from Fancy Pants and Piggy Tales for my card and gems from Hero Arts.  Images were heat embossed with Versafine ink (Tsukineko) and clear detail powder then colored with my Spectrum noir markers.

Sentiment is also from TCP called "What part of Meow".  Here's what the final card looks like at a slight angle for better viewing :)

Challenge List:
The Cat's Pajamas: technique
Pile It On: kick back and relax
Forever Friends: Summer holidays
Tuesday Throwdown: Hot colors
Card MAd Fairy: summertime
Make It Monday: linky party

Skipping Stones Design Feature Friday

Its a double post today! If you're here for the Sweet 'n Sassy Digi challenge scroll down to the next post please :)

I'm also up for Feature Friday at Skipping Stones Design today!  I used 3 different sets for my card including the newest release Darling Damask for my background.  BG was stamped repeatedly in Old Paper ink on Kraft cardstock.

My focal point was created using one of the Beautiful Botanicals stamps and some Tim Holtz Distress markers in Barn Door, Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint, and Dusty Concord.  I colored directly on the stamp then huffed on it which moistens the ink then stamped.  Voila! Watercolored effect!  You can actually spritz this and stamp up to 2 more times for a more watered down look!

I added some Kraft photo corners to the main panel, some Ivory Taffeta ribbon and my sentiment (from Heartsong 2) was stamped in Barn Door Distress ink.

Hope you enjoy :)
