Holidays in a Hurry

Its Thursday and time for another round of this month's Dreamweaver Stencils' Challenge: Holidays in a Hurry!  In between rushing around and wrapping why not do a bit of doodling while sitting with the family?  Here's a card that can be completed almost anywhere in no time at all:

I used the Jumbo Merry Christmas stencil on green ptterened paper and traced through it with a 0.3 Micron pen.  Then I removed the stencil and colored some letters with my Pitt pens and made some stripes with a 1.0 Micron pen.  Finally I added some accents with a Sharpie white paint pen.   Fast and simple!

Please go check out the rest of A Teams' creations for you today:

Joyeux Noel

Its the first Thursday of the month and time for a new challenge from Dreamweaver Stencils.  No one has a ton of extra time during the holiday season, yet we all find a few minutes here and there to create.  So this month we want to see "Holidays in a Hurry".  It could be a quick gift or gift wrap or even a fast card!

I have a quick card for you today using one of our newest dies, Leafless Tree.  I cut it out in brown cardstock and then gued that over the pre-pasted sister stencil Leafless Tree.  I've also added a touch of glitter to the tops of some of the branches.

Noel was stenciled in brown ink with the Joyeux Noel stencil masked off.

Here's the list of my teammates playing along today:

Gift season is almost here...

In the spirit of all the crazy people who will be out shopping on Black Friday this week I thought I'd post a card with this cute little Gifts Kiddo.  He's one of the newest kiddos on the block at Stampendous.

The background was stamped with Holiday Giving and embossed with Red Embossing Tinsel.

Dreamweaver Stencils Gifts

Its still Christmas and Holiday gift time at Dreamweaver Stencils so I created a little corkboard gift.  The Long Stocking was stenciled with Pearlescent Paste and then I added Metallic FX powders and heated it (Molten Magic technique)

Here's a closer look at the stocking:

I also added a small tag using Merry Christmas stencil with Distress ink.  The tag and the old fashioned May Arts bow were added using 3 in 1 adhesive from Beacon.

Dreamweaver Stencils with Tim Holtz Distress Paint

Good morning!  Today is the first Thursday of the month and time for a new challenge at Dreamweaver Stencils.  Its all about Holiday gift giving this month.  AND this week we are partnering with Ranger Ink using Tim Hotlz's Distress Paints.  We are also partnering with Beacon all this month.

Today I upcycled a Tazo Tea tin for a ready made gift box.  I painted the top of the tin with the Distress paint then set that aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the tin.

I pulled out my Gelli plate and brayered some Distress paint across that, laid down some stencils and transfered the monoprint onto sticky back canvas.

The ornament die was cut from Tim Holtz tissue paper that was adhered t mixed media paper using Fast Finish from Beacon then painted.

I added part of the Joyeux Noel stencil on top, stenciled onto painted canvas with Red Label paste.  This was then added to the front of the tin after tying some Tim Holtz Crinkle ribbon around the top of the ornament.

Supplies:
Joyeux Noel, Large Flourish, Big Dots stencils (Dreamweaver Stencils)
Red Label embossing Paste (Dreamweaver)
Mowed Lawn, Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles, Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries, Aged Mahogany Distress Paint (Ranger)
Claudine Helmuth Sticky back canvas (Ranger)
Tim Holtz Carved Ornaments die (Sizzix)
Gelli plate
Brayer
Tazo tea tin

Here's who's playing today, so be sure to go leave some love:

Pumpkin Kiddo

This week is Stampendous' Kiddos showcase week and I have a cute little Pumpkin Kiddo card for you today.  Is she a little doll or what?  I haven't been coloring much lately but the kiddos are always fun to color with copics, speccies, pencils, or whatever you choose.

I colored her with my copics  (E00, E000, YR68, YR16, YR12, YG17, YG23, YG21, E27, E25) then cut her out with a Lifestyle Crafts die and put her aside.

My background was created by filling in a white sheet of cardstock with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade, and Broken China using a blending tool.  I then stamped the Haunting Background over that in Black archival ink.  She was finished with some layering and a bit of fun chevron ribbon from May Arts.

Be sure to check out what the rest f the team is posting this week on the Stampendous blog.

HAlloween Altered Book

This altered book was one of my favorite projects for Stampendous for July CHA.  It began life as a duplicate hard back book (otherwise I could never bring myself to paint it!)

The cover was painted in Hematite Maya Gold paint and after that dried the fun began!

My focal point is the new Mirror Mirror stamp from Stampendous.  I stamped her in Versamark ink on previously painted paper then embossed her in Aged Black embossing Enamel then set this aside.

On the book itself I added multiple layers of paper (Echo Park), stenciling (Copper Embossing Creme through Ronda Palazzari's Quatrefoil stencil from The Crafter's Workshop), and moe stamping with Haunting Background embossed in Aged Spice.

I added some black Mesh ribbon from May Arts...

And lots of fall flowers from Petaloo...

Overall a very fun cover to alter!  Plus the insides began to take shape but I of course forgot to take picture of the inside before I mailed it off, LOL.

Gelli Printing with Tim Holtz Distress Paints

Good morning!  I'm up today on Paper Craft Planet with a tutorial for you using my Gelli plate and the new Tim Holtz Distress paint colors.  Here's the finished journal page that I did in my Dylusions Mini Journal:

First you need to gather your supplies.  I used my Gelli plate, Tim Holtz Distress Paint, Tim Holtz's new layering stencils,  and a brayer.

Even though the Distress Paints have a dauber on top its easier for this technique to open the lid and pour out a few drops.  Be careful, the distress paint is more fluid than most paints you would usually use for Gelli-printing so it pours out quickly!

Next brayer the paint into a thin coat, slightly mixing the colors but not too much.  You still want to see the variegation.  After I brayered it out I used a spatula (that I cut grooves into) to create some texture.

Place your journal or other paper onto the Gelli plate and rub.

Next I cleaned the rest of the greens off and brayered some reds. I added a stencil on top then pressed my page over the gelli again.

This is what it looked like at this point:

Next I added darker greens and a new stencil and transfered that to my page:

Then it looked like this:

I added some background stamping an inked y edges with the dark green paint:

Finally I added some Dylusions images that I stamped on watercolor paper and colored with a waterbrush and distress paint:

Supplies:
Gelli plate (Gelli Arts)
Brayer (Ranger)
Aged Mahogany, Festive Berries, Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles, Bundled Sage Distress Paint (Ranger)
Black Archival pad (Ranger)
Christmas Backgrounds, Christmas Borders, Christmas Words, Day of the Heads Dylusions stamps (Ranger)
Distress Watercolor paper (Ranger)
Dylusions small journal (Ranger)
Copic multi liner

Do you have a gelli plate that you bought and then stashed away?  Pull it out and try it!

3L Scrapbook Adhesives and Stampendous Bog Hop

Welcome to the Stampendous and 3L Scrapbook Adhesives Blog Hop!  I hope you've enjoyed the multitude of adorable samples this week and we have so much more in store for you today!

Today I have a sample I created for the July CHA show for Stampendous.  It started as a little book that I painted in 3D Stamp Paint (from Viva Decor).

Next I stamped the flourish border from Angel Trumpet in versamark ink and then embossed that in Aged Gold Embossing Enamel from the Gold Encrusted Jewel Kit.  I added more of the powder to the edges and some Gilded Mica and Champagne Glass Glitter.

Angel Sisters was stamped on white cardstock and colored with my copics.  This was then adhered to the book front with Crafty Foam Tape...this stuff sticks to all kinds of fun surfaces including paint!

OK, so don't forget to comment along the way, the more you comment the more chances you have to win one of three prize packs (randomly drawn from US entries)
