Today I created a card for you using two summery Dreamweaver stencils with LOTS of Stampendous Micro Glitter!

For the main panel I used the Toucan stencil with the double glitter technique.  The Stampendous Micro glitter works fabulously for this technique!  Colors are Red, Lime, Orange, Sunflower, Teal and Cinnamon.  The sentiment panel using the Summer stencil was done the same way.

The yummy glitter on these adorable  images speaks all for itself so I only added a simple border in blue using the border stamp from Jumbo Tropical Garden.

Its also a summertime challenge still at DWS in July so eneter to win there, PLUS Be sure to leave comments as you hop along for more chances to win!!

New stencils in the house!

Still getting ready for the big show this weekend in Winston-Salem, will you be there?  Stop by Betty's booth at The Stamp Scrap Art Tour and say hi!!  We've gotten in tons of new products including the new lineup of stencils from The Crafter's Workshop!  I cranked out a couple of quick Project Life layouts for you and the show:

The first one uses some of the new Balzer Bits from TCW by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer and a Life Bits from Jen Boumis.  Both of these itty bitty stencil releases are just perfect for Project Life or any scrapbooking!

Here's the Numbers Bits from Balzer Designs:

The favorite life bits from Jen:

And my new fav, View Master Bits from Balzer Designs.  I also had a couple of panels using Stacked Triangles and Shattered Circles where I added more journaling.

And here's another page using some of Ronda Palazzari's new stencils:

Loving this new "And so On" stencil!

Two panels use the new Baubles, one with the new Feathers stencil layered on top, and one with journaling on top.

More to come as always!  Hope to see you at the show tomorrow!

Mixed Media Layouts

Good morning! Hope you all have had a fabulous weekend!  Mine so far has been full of rain and thus a migraine, sigh.  Feeling much better today though and I'm off to work soon.

Betty and I have been franticly prepping for the Stamp Scrap Art Tour in W-S next weekend.  We'll have tons of mixed media products available including the newest stencils from The Crafter's Workshop, new stamps from Dyan Reaveley and more!  I hope to see some of my local friends there Saturday :)

So in preparation for the show I've been creating like crazy for Betty.  The Silks acrylic glazes from Splash of Color have been really hot for us so I created a few layouts using them with stencils from TCW.

For this layout  used the 12x12 Fragmented Flower Stencil with a mixture of Apricot Nectar, Fuzzy Peach, and Watermelon Mist silks sponged through onto 12x12 watercolor paper.

I also painted the silks onto some Prima flowers and a heart cut out of chipboard with a Tim Holtz die.  Final touches include journaling and outlining the stenciled area, plus a tad of washi tape.

My next layout is done on a piece of pattern paper to add to the depth of the texture on the page.

I then stenciled some flowers from a Dyan Reaveley stencil in the same Silks colors around the edge and some dots in the center of the page randomly.

Again I used some cardboard die cut and painted that in Black Ice Silks this time, plus some more flowers.  My tag was also painted in silks.

More to follow on another day!  Shoot me a comment  or email if I'll see you at the show!

Summertime Challenge

Hi friends!  I know its been a while since I blogged, two weeks in fact!  There's been a lot going on here including top secret design work, but I've also been in a creative slump.  I wish I could order some mojo online :)

Today is Dreamweaver Stencils Thursday challenge: Summertime, Sparklers, and S'more!  I had a card in the works and its just NOT coming out how I want so I thought I'd pull one from the archives.  When I get my latest project done I'll share that too.

For this card I used the double glitter technique and the Retro Standing Cat stencil on the main panel.  I know a cat isnt necessarily summery but my colors are!  Plus my cats all love sunbathing :)

The background panel is with the same technique and the Paisleys stencil.  All glitters are from Stampendous.

Please join my fellow Team A mates today and leave them all some love!  Also we would of course love for you to play along with us this month and you can view the details of how on the Dream It Up blog!

Summertime Challenge at Dreamweaver Stencils

Its all about Summertime, Sparklers, and S'mores for the Dreamweaver Stencils challenge this month!  Won't you play along with us for a chance to win?

My card today uses the Mosaic Stencil (one of my new favs can you tell?)  It always looks like water to me so I used Oceanic glitter colors for the Double Glitter technique for a wave effect.  I used Tim Holtz Dry Stickles glitters in Lagoon, True Blue, Turquoise,  Lime Green, and Stardust.

This was a very CAS card for me, but the glittered panel was so pretty that I just wanted to leave it alone!  My sentiment is from Stampendous.

Be sure to catch what the rest of team A is up to this week:

Fun at Donna Downey's Studio

OK, so Betty, Caroline, and I signed up for a Doodling class with Joanne Sharpe last Friday night at Donna Downey's Studio.  Turns out the storms were so bad that she missed her connecting flight in Detroit so Donna improvised at the last minute and offered to let us take her Poppy class if we still wanted to drive down.  Well, duh!

Let me tell you, if you ever have a chance to take a class with this fabulous woman DO IT!  She is beyond talented and yet so down to earth.  She's full of energy and inspiration and you will leave feeling like you're an artist!

So above is a pic of Donna that totally sums her up!  Below she's helping me with a question.

Here's Caroline and I having a blast.

And had to share this one, LOL, Donna is covering up the Tim Holtz logo on Caroline's apron!

Here's a pic of what my canvas turned into.

This is my oldest daughter Taylor and her boyfriend Cole from Prom this year.

Here's a closeup of all the fun texture on the piece:

We played with lots of layers using tags, paints, gesso, molding paste, book text, and lots more.  Had a blast and I'm so glad we went!

Playing with {Prima} Paper Dolls

Happy Monday!  I had a fun weekend of classes at Donna Downey's studio and I'll share pics from those later this week.  But in the meantime I wanted to share with you some tags that I created for Betty's store using the Prima Doll stamps and Splash of Color mediums.

For the first one I colored her dress in with Silks acrylic glazes from Splash of Color.  My tag was first colored with Silks and then I stenciled more silks through a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and also stenciled Graphite Ferro through a different TCW stencil.

I added a cutout from one of the new ATC Collage Sheets from Splash of Color.  My flowers are from Petaloo colored with Silks and lace trim is by Prima.

For the second tag I again used Silks for the background and the stenciling.  Her dress was paper-pieced with LYB Poppy.

Her crown and the words came from one of the Collage Sheets from SOC.

And her skin was shaded with Gelatos from Faber Castell.

These little gals are so fun to piece and color! I can't wait to play with more of the new ones :)
