Stampendous! Saturday with BLOG CANDY

I’m back for this week’s edition of Stampendous! Saturday!  This week I am trying something quite a bit different for me, and I’m still playing with the techniques, so I’ll show you lots more of this in the future!

Our latest Stampendous! catalog was all about Fran’tage!  And while demoing at CHA this July Fran stumbled upon a fun new complimentary technique which she’s calling The Encrusted Jewel Technique.

Here’s my whole card and its really hard to see all the sparkly gorgeousness going on so I have a couple of close ups for you too!   I stamped the Eiffel Tower from the Perfectly Clear Eiffel Tower stamp set in Versamark Ink on a pattern paper then embossed it with the new Aged Silver Embossing Enamel.  Around the edges I added some of the smaller stamps from the set stamped in Bisque Dew Drop ink.  I added some Aged Gold Embossing Enamel to only parts of the images and then heated them  Now part of that lovely champagne color shows through as well.

Along the bottom of the card I stamped one of the gorgeous Jumbo Cling Romantic Border and embossed that with Chunky White Deep Impression powder.  Before its heated though you want to add small bits of your other “pretties”.  I used  Pearlized Mica Fragments,  Champagne Crushed Glass Glitter, and Silver Crushed Glass Glitter.

I'm linking to the NEW Encrusted Jewel Technique video on YouTube so you can check it out :)

AND, since its still August I have Blog candy for you again this week!!  I am giving away this beautiful  Eiffel Tower Set courtesy of Stampendous!  Just leave me a comment by next Friday  night (and feel free to follow me!!)

ALSO with blog candy this week:

Eeeeekk!  I am still on my Halloween kick!  Luckily Simply Betty Stamps is releasing new Sweet Gothic Kids Halloween images this week!  Today starts our previews with Rag Doll Sally, Pumpkin Judy, and Pumpkin Carving Alex.

First I have for you today a card I made with Sally.  I absolutely LOVE the way this card turned out!!  I pulled out some scraps of Bo Bunny paper to pull my colors from.  Don't you love her lavender hair and the cute little skulls on her hat and apron?!!

Here's a closeup for you.  Even had to give her some Goth black lipstick, hehe.  Totally couldn't resist!

The accent panel is stamped with Stampendous! Cling Frightful Phrases embossed with Black powder.  The whole piece was the tied up with some yummy Bo Bunny black polka dot ribbon.

I also have a card for you using Pumpkin Carving Alex.  Not as bright as the other by any means.  Pulled out some old Basic Grey papers for this one :)  I used my Pumpkin Nesties for the large die cut, then did the dots with Snickerdoodle Smooch.    The sentiment is by Stampendous! (Cling Real Treat)

Be sure to go by the Simply Betty Stamps blog for a TON more spookilicious eye candy and a chance to win one of 3 digis!  The whole new Sweet Gothic Kids Halloween collection will be released tomorrow night, and you can get them in clear stamp form (OR as digis for 1 week only!!)

I had so much fun working on this page!  I used an oldie but goodie Stampendous! set for this one called Stretchy Spooks.  To match the ghostie I stamped and cut out, I added little while velvet Class-a-Peel Ghost stickers called Fuzzy Phantoms.  I also added Black Velvet Jumbo bat Class-a-Peel stickers and the BOO is Velvet Class-a-Peel numbers (I cut them up and re-formed them!)  Lastly I added more Velvet Class-a-Peel stickers in Black Velvet Damask for  border.  All 4 sticker sheets are from Stampendous!' fun full line of stickers.

For the border I used the mustache looking piece from the Spooks set, then added dots in between with a Versamarker and embossed them in fun Halloween colors: Olive, Plum, and Chinese Red.

Stampendous! products used:

There's a pocket in my layout!

Boo!  Its August...almost time for the BEST Holiday of the year!  Can you guess what my favorite is??  If you said Halloween then you are right on the money and you will love all the spooky fun I have coing you way in the months to come!

We have our 3rd scrap Team Challenge over at SImply BettyStamps Challenge Blog!  We saw some terrific tags, and love to go look it them all!  Please remember you dont have to use a Betty image to get started, you never know when you might win one!  But of course if ya got em, flaunt em!  But play along with us either way!!

This week our challenge to you is to add a pocket or two to your layout.  However you interpret that.  I chose to sew some pockets onto my background so i could slip some tags in for a bit of hidden journaling.  I stapled my ribbons on the edges, as well as stapling the web meshy cool stuff since its hard to figure out the best way to keep it down.

You can see a bit of a peek at Vampire Gigi here.  She's been brought out From the Crypt to see the light of day again (or the Ott ligt of a stamping room!)  She's available in the SBS store in a single rubber stamp and she's on SALE right now, from $5.50 marked down to $3.50.  How fun for a back to school card for a teenager!

Here's a bit better view of the stitching , the mesh, the tags sticking out of the pockets, and all the staples.  Even a slight peek at the gesso and black ink all over the bG of the page.

And finally a spotlight on Vampire Gigi herself.  She's not exactly what my DD was going for when doing the Halloween makeup, but I thought it was funny with the pic.

So, we would LOVE for you to join our challenge this week!  Scrapbooking is just creating a card on a bigger canvas.  No different!

AND be sure to head over to our Facebook Fan Page...something got messed up and Betty lost the whole she-bang....so PLEASE go re- LIKE the SBS page!!  WHen we get to 500 "likes" there, there will be a FREE digi for everyone!!  Spread the word, and make sure everyone knows to say who referred them!

Have a spookilicious Weekend!!

-Cyndi

And as always lots of new fun suprises, announcements and more going on over at the SBS Blog!
