On the Third day of Halloween...

...My true love gave to me
Three black cats
Two trick or treaters
And an owl in a rotten oak tree

As you have probably already guessed, today's challenge is to incorporate a black cat on your projects!

I used Lydia the Living Dead Girl, complete with her Black cat, from the Simply Betty Stamps Steampunk Halloween collection.  I was so challenged by these itty bitty images at first, but once you learn to have a light hand, they are FABulous to color!

After I finished coloring her I added a lot of Sparkle Shimmer Spritz from Tsukineko to the whole panel.  Added 3 brads (for the day 3) and a speiderweb border (from Martha Stewart) and volia!

Please play along with us today! You have until Oct 30th to link up all your projects to the SBS blog and be eligible for a digi stamp each day or one lucky winner who completes all 12 challenges will be chosen by the DT to join our DT next year!

Other Challenges:
Crazy Challenge: Halloween
Papertake Weekly: Spooky Hues
Color Throwdown: colors
CMC Copic Challenge: fall colors (orange in shoes)

On the Second day of Halloween...

My true love gave to me
Two trick or treaters
And an owl in a rotten oak tree

The Challenge today for the 12 Days of Halloween at Simply Betty Stamps is to incorporate some Trick or Treaters in to your projects!   Like yesterday you have until October 30th at 10PM PST to upload your Two Trick or Treaters project to the SBS blog!  Have fun and happy Trick or Treating!

Today's prize is...London Mummy in digi form!

On to my card for the day

My two trick or treaters are Lola Bo Peep (and her sheep) from the Zombie Teens Halloween collection. Is she a hoot or what?  I colored her really bright to match this paper from Doodlebug that I picked up at Enchanted Cottage.

Here she is a bit closer, green zombie skin, orange red eyes and all :)

And below is my favorite part of the card, a street of buttons!

Please play along with us today!  You don't have to use a Simply Betty Stamps image, but we sure LOVE to see them when you do!  And be sure to check back in with me all week for lots more Halloween fun!!  (Including our Haunty Halloween Hop this Saturday!)

On the first day of Halloween...

...My true love gave to me
An owl in a rotten oak tree!

Welcome to the Simply Betty Stamps second annual 12 days of Halloween!  If you all joined us last year, welcome back!  If you are new, hang on to your coloring media it's going to be a bumpy Broom stick ride!

Let me explain the game... unlike last year that you had two or three days to complete your projects, this time around you have until the 30th of October to upload all your projects for all the 12 days.  Of course each day will have it's own linky, but you must upload your projects accordingly.  Each project must be a new project.  On the 30th, all links will close, the DT and Betty will take one week to sort out the winners and announce them on Nov. 5th.  There will be several winners, but one person that enters ALL 12 days and is best of the best will be chosen to be a part of our DT for 2012!

For today you must create anything; card, scrap page lay out, altered item.. ANYTHING using an owl and creepy tree in  your project.  Pretty simple right?

You have until 10pm PST on the 30th October to upload your project to the SBS blog and be considered for the prize.

The prize for today is Miller Igor from  the Teen Scene Halloween in... DIGI form!

My card for today features Jude and his Pumpkin Wagon from the new Jude & The Rockers Fall collection from Simply Betty Stamps.  I paired him with some Oak tree paper by We R Memory Keepers (also available in the SBS store), a tree branch from QuicKutz, and an owl stamp by Hero Arts.  The sentiment is from A Muse.

For my layout I used Jen's Deconstructed sketch for the week:

I kept the card very simple again for me. Soooo hard to do, but sometimes thats all that time pemits and I just have to stop adding stuff!  I used some papers from Bo Bunny, ribbon from Creative Impressions, and a sentiment from  A Muse.

Here she is closer up so you can see the touches of sparkle from the Gelly Roll glitter pen

And here's Frosty Rio!  She was one f the first I colored, but somehow the last card that I completed :(  But Rio is such a doll decking out Frosty for the holidays!  Papers for this one are Bo Bunny and My Minds Eye.  I added a bunch of sparkly fluff... Snow White Flock mixed with Multi Glitter (both from Stampendous!)

I used Season's Greetings Lola today, complete with her little bud Louie.  I had fun with her pulling some slightly offbeat Christmas colors from and old scrap of Heidi Grace paper Ive been hoarding!  I kept the card really simple cause I really wanted to show her off in all her cuteness :)

Here's a close up of her and Louie.  The sentiment is from Stampendous!, I masked off part of it and then embossed it with Bright pink EP.  Can you believes it, a CAS card from me??  LOL

Be sure to take time to hop around to the other DT's blogs and leave some love, you never know where Betty will pull the winners from a comment!!  We also have 2 new DT starting this week! Please head over and give a huge welcome to Lea and Aeryn!!

From the Xander Zone Blog Hop and Auction

Welcome to the Xander Zone!!  You are in for quite a trip through todays Blog Hop and Auction.  Our dear friend Betty Roberts, owner of Simply Betty Stamps has just found out this week that her 17 year old son Christian has Stage 1 Throat Cancer.  He will be having surgery next week and many months of Therapy to follow.  (To read more from  Betty on what’s going on please go HERE)

Betty’s DT and the Crafty Sprouts DT along with a few friends have come together today for the From the Xander Zone Blog Hop and Auction!  If you are stumbling into this hop please head to Crafty Sprouts to catch the beginning of the hop!

If you hopped here from  Erika at Crafty Sprouts then you are right on track!

As you hop along today you will see cards created with Xander, the first in a new series to be released called “From the Xander Zone”.  He is available with a donation to Betty’s family.  Christian will be undergoing Surgery next week to remove his tonsils and then the thrice weekly Therapy will begin on the tumor.  His therapy could last for many months.

There is also  a contest running through October 16th and Christian will pick a random winner who will receive the whole collection!  The details on the contest are at the SBS blog.

If you would like to send a card to Christian please mail to:
Christian Ford
PO Box 132314
Big Bear Lake, CA 92315

As you hop today you will also see many cards and projects up for Auction.  In order to make a bid on an item leave a comment on that person’s blog with your offer AND your name and email address.  Please remember that it might not be you who gets the winning bid, so check back if you really want it!

At the end of the Hop (Tuesday night October 11th at 9pm EST the auction will come to a close.  Winners will be sent a paypal invoice and the Winners will be announced Wednesday on the Simply Betty Stamps blog.  Please note that we are asking for timely payment, with 48 hours of the announcement on Tuesday morning or the runner up will be chosen.  This is for the simple fact that Betty’s family needs this money as quickly as possible for all of these unexpected and out-of-pocket needs.

First up I’ll show you my card for Christian, using the Xander image.  (Xander is a play on his name Christian Alexander)  I pulled out some old Junkitz papers I’ve been hoarding forever and paired it with some chipboard letters inked in Versacraft.  The Dude sentiment at the top is a chipboard piece from DCWV.

Next I have what I thought turned out totally fun using 2 of the gals in the From the Xander Zone collection.  (These images will be released in the near future).  I did my first digi merge!!  Yeah me!  They are colored up in some wild punky colors to match the Sassafras Lass paper choices.  I added some Grunge shapes from Tim Holtz embossing in Bright Pink EP from Stampendous! And of course some awesome May Arts ribbon & mesh!

Lastly, here is my 8 year old son Michael’s card.  He used Jack Skellington from the Simply Betty Burton Chibis  collection and some chipboard (Christian’s initials) and of course his favorite skull paper.  He was so concerned to find out Christian’s favorite band and put something on their about that, since he’s a true rocker too.   (Notice he even made me cut a center step card for his!!  The rest he did himself :)

I also have auction items up for bids today!

Its  a collection of my 3 favorites Simply Betty Stamps cards that I’ve ever made!

The first is featuring The Corpse Bride Emily, and you can read about that post HERE

Next is my all time fav with sally and Jack!  The deets on that card are HERE

And finally a card featuring Betty and Christian Gomez.  Go HERE for those details.

I am taking bids on the collection of the 3 cards together in a set, including envelopes.  International bidders on the card set is fine .

I also have a set of 2 Scrapbook Kits that I created for my store which includes 4 double page 12x12 layouts (8 total pages).  Kits include instructions, all papers, and embellishments.  Retail value over $30.  This offering is for US residents only, sorry!

Its all about Pink & Die cuts!

Morning all!  I have a card for 2 challenges for you today!  This is Lili's Ribbon Awareness from Inky Impressions.  Our challenge at the Inky Challenge blog this week is to show your support!

This week we want to see you support Breast Cancer Awareness! As of 2010 there are almost 2.5 million Women & Men who are SURVIVORS of this horrible disease! Lets shows these survivors how much we care and support them in their fight!

So the Inkettes would love to see your Breast Cancer Awareness cards AND/OR Monochromatic cards.

One winner who uses an Inky Image will receive an "Inky Prize Pack".
&
One Winner who doesn't use and Inky Image will receive an Inky Digi.

I have used a monochromatic pink theme using some fun papers from Echo Park's "Little Girl" and "Everyone Loves Christmas" collections.  I picked up both at the Simply Betty Stamps web store :)  Lili is stamped on Cryogen white and then colored with Copic markers.

Ou challenge this week for you at Fab'n'Funky is to use die cuts or punches or both!  I pulled out my Flowers Stackers 5 die  from Cheery Lynn Designs and cut three flowers, curled them a bit and added some distressing with Sweet Blush ink from PTI.  I also used Border Carnivale (also from CLD) for a border strip, a bit of SU! Rose Romance ribbon and the sentiment is a tag that I cut out from the Echo Park Little Girl line.

I'd love to see you play along with BOTH challenges this week!

My Challenge list:
Inky Impressions: Show your Support (DT)
Fab'n'Funky: dies or punches (DT)
My Sheri Crafts: Think Pink
Di's Digi Design: make your own flowers
Inspire me Fridays: anything goes
Make it Mondays: anything Goes

OK, don't forget today is the LAST day to enter for my follower blog candy! And tomorrow is our special HOP and AUCTION for Christian!

New card and LOTS of reminders :)

Hey peeps, first up I have a card for you then a ton of reminders and what's going on!  Today's card features Brittany from the new Jude and the Rockers Fall collection from Simply Betty Stamps.  She's gotta be one of my favs from this release, but then again I love them all!

I colored her to match some new paper that I ordered from Simply Betty.  Its from the We R Memory Keepers Fall 6x6 pad and I paired it with the matching Cardstock pad that she also has in stock.  Just lurve these fall colors!   used last months sketch from Graphicat Creations for my layout.

Here she is up close...such a doll!  I masked her face and sprayed the rest of her with Bisque Perfect Pearls Mist from Ranger.  Makes it look like she's stamped on shimmery Cryogen paper!

OK, so what's up in my world?  Have you read the post HERE from Betty about what her son is going through.  He is 17 and has just been diagnosed with throat cancer.  We are all pulling together in the crafty world and helping to raise money for his operation next week and his many months of therapy to follow.  So how can you help?  The first is to purchase the below image for a donation.  There is a contest going on, see same link to post for the deets on that.

We also have  "From the Xander Zone" Blog Hop and Auction planned for this Thursday starting at Crafty Sprouts and ending at Simply Betty Stamps, so be sure to catch that for a chance to bid on some totally awesome creations and maybe even a few stamps along the way!

I have been spending lots of my time helping with these efforts along with my new job, if you haven't heard.  I am now the Independent Sales Representative in my area for Stampendous!, Simply Betty Stamps, May Arts, Cheery Lynn Designs, Lifestyle Crafts (formerly QuicKutz) and more!  Keeping me hopping!!  so sorry I have been a bit slack at posting and commenting on friend's blogs the last couple of weeks.

Lastly, I want to remind you that you have about 36 hours to enter for  my blog candy.  All you have to do is to be a follower and to leave me a comment on THIS POST.

Thanks for all my loyal followers! I am so sorry I have been too tied up to visit you all back recently.  And many thanks to all of you who have already helped Betty with orders and emails.  Christian is reading every email!  Every one helps to lift his spirits!

Simply Betty Stamps Surprise Release!

Its a Surprise release today at Simply Betty Stamps!  Jude & the Rockers are back and ready for some fall fun :)  All 6 new images are available TODAY in the store, and you can find samples with the rest on the SBS blog today and more this week!

Meet Ali and her baby Turkey!  I used this weeks Splitcoast Stampers sketch for the layout along with some fun new paper from American Crafts.  The leaf is a die from Cheery Lynn Designs.

And next I have Lilly Pie.  She's running through the kitchen cause that pie is smokin' hot!  Lilly is dressed in some duds to match my Bella Blvd paper.  I needed to make some CAS cards for a class this month at Family Memories in Charlotte....this is about as simple as I can get!  More of the same Leaves from Cheery Lynn.

OK, thats it for me tonight...quick post!  I have a Demo tomorrow at The Stamping and Scrapbooking Room in Greensboro if anyone is nearby!  I will be demoing the new Flower Stackers and more from Cheery Lynn Designs!

Stampendous! Saturday

It's the first Saturday of the month, and that means it's time again for a new challenge with the Stampendous team!  This month, to kick thing off and celebrate World Card Making Day, we are looking towards the holidays AND trying to keep it Clean and Simple.  That's right - we are making Clean and Simple (CAS) holiday cards!!  You'll see a few team members showing off more than one card today; some chose to make one CAS and then take that design and showcase how to "step it up".  Others chose to make sets of CAS holiday cards that could be given as gifts or used to make a dent in the Christmas card list.

Our challenge to you this month is to join us in making CAS holiday cards.  We want to help you get into the holiday spirit, so this month we are giving away a Cling Jumbo Sparkle Joy set to a random winner. You don't have to use a Stampendous image or products to play along, but we sure love it when you do!  You have until Thursday, November 3 at 11:59 PM EST to add your link to the linky tool, and we'll draw a random winner.  You can enter as many times as you'd like.

Here is mine.  Clean and simple os soooo hard for me, but I loved the way it turned out!  I used the new Cling Tweet Top Hat.  Here's a closeup below as well:

Check out more inspiration from the DT:

My  card is also for today's Desert Island Crafter's Challenge.  That post will be up on the DICC blog a bit later today :)  We have Karen's Itinerary for the next 2 weeks! Come join us!
