Sunday Sketch Challenge...meet The Tweedles

We have a whole week of Curious peeks for you from Simply B Stamps, starting with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum from the new Alice in Wonderland Chibis series!  You don't want to miss a single one of these Alice images this week, so stay tuned!

First up this week are teh Tweedles which I stamped and colored with my copic markers to match this wonderlicious paper from Graphic 45....Halloween in Wonderland.  Here they are up close and personal, fighting as only these little guys can.

I added a card from the paper line, button , and sentiment that I downloaded a couple of years back.

Here is my new sketch for this fortnight if you'd like to play along.  You have two weeks to play, winner will be chosen randomly from US entries, and there must be 5 entries for a prize to be given.

Last week's winner is my dear friend Betty R, owner of Simply B Stamps and artist extraordinaire!  Here was her fabulous take on my sketch using Betty Munster:

Scrappy Chick (Monday) Sunday Sketch Challenge

I'm laying a bit of catch up today!  I spent the weekend in DC with Rachael and Michael for the "Battle at the Capital" Cheer Competition.  The girls were fabulous!  We didn't have much time for sight seeing, but we did get to the National Museum of Air and Space and the National Museum of Natural History for a bit yesterday.  While I was gone I left Taylor home, recouping from Mono...I thought...with her brother Perry. But she got worse over the weekend. Its really taking its toll on her, poor baby.

So, anyway I ma a day late with my biweekly sketch challenge, but since I'm the boss thats ok, right?  So I have a new sketch for you today to last the next two weeks and I hope you will play along!

Today's card for my sketch is one of the cards from my Dreamweaver Stencil basics class.  The whole class was on dry embossing and different ways to jazz that up.  For this card I left the LL017 Cameo Stencil in place after dry embossing then I stippled Gold Galaxy Versafine ink around the oval border.  I removed the stencil then heated this part.

Next I replaced the stencil and then applied Versamark ink to the lady portion only using a large finger dauber.  Remove stencil once again then add Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel from Stampendous!  Remove any excess powder that stuck to frame portion with a dry brush and then heat.

The sentiment is from LG691 Thank You, dry embossed and stenciled with more Gold Galaxy ink.  Ppaers are from Bo Bunny, Crochet ribbon is by May Arts, ad the scallop border was die cut with the Edge It Kit from Lifestyle Crafts.  Oval Frames were cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities.

Here's the sketch if you want to play along!  Please use the Mr Linky tool at the bottom of the post so we can come check out your creation! If you don't have a blog or gallery feel free to email me at thescrappychick at gmail dot com.  Also feel free to interpret the sketch however you want!

You have until Saturday night, March 17 at 8pm EST to play.  Due to shipping, only US submissions will be entered for the prize.  This fortnight's prize:

A Cosmo Cricket Pixie-licious 6x6 paper pad!

And before I forget, last weeks randomly picked winner (using Random.org) is Lea Kimmel of (th)INK Positive with this adorable creation:

Be sure to go over and leave Lea some love on her post!  Thanks to all my friends who have been playing!

Scrappy Chick Sunday Sketch Challenge

Sorry its so late in the day, but I got sidetracked cleaning up my stamp room and basement.  I'm back for this week's new sketch challenge, but first, last week's winner...Allison H!  Email me your snail mail gf and I'll get your mica out to you!

For todays card I started with the new By the Sea stamp from Stampendous! that I heat embossed with Aged Taupe Embossing Enamel onto a pale pink cardstock.  I distressed the edges with a bit of Antique Linen distress ink from Ranger then added Rose Color Fragments by Stampendous! using a wet adhesive.

Here's a coser shot at the shell itself...

And the bottom portion of the stamp, the greeting is part of the whole stamp.

This week's sketch is below.   Feel free to rotate it or make it your own.  You have until Saturday March 3rd at 10pm EST to play along.  Please link your creation at the bottom of the post :)

I chose my colors for today from this weeks Color Throwdown color challenge:

Scrappy Chick Sunday Sketch Challenge

Its time for another Scrappy Chick Sunday sketch challenge! And it just happens to coincide with Desert Island Crafters Challenge today!   Its also challenge time at Simply B Stamps!  We are going to start a monthly challenge!  woohoo!  This month the challenge is simple...just use a Betty Stamp...any Betty!

I used Valentine Betty from Simply B Stamps, one of a line of The Betty chibis.  I colored her to match this awesome paper from My Minds Eye that I picked up at Enchanted Cottage last week.  I kept the card monochromatic (one of the challenges from this week's DICC itinerary)

Isn't she a hoot?  And gotta love her bat!  I added some random hearts to the paper with the Wild Thing set from Verve Stamps in Fired Brick Distress ink and distressed all my edges with Smoky Gray Versafine ink.  I also added some embossing around the edges of the tag with Aged Silver Embossing Enamel from Stampendous!

Here's the itinerary from Desert Island Crafts Challenge this fortnight:

 1) Monochromatic
2) Stitching
3) Metal
4) Embossing
5) No Designer/Pattern Paper
6) Handmade Flower
7) Distressing
8) Sentiment
9) Up Cycle
10) Chipboard

I used monochromatic, embossing, distressing, and sentiment.

And Here's my sketch for the next two weeks, so go play!  Just link up here to Mr Linky so we can see your creation!  You have until Friday night Jan 27th to play along.  What's the prize up for grabs this week??  I have an embossing folder from Tim Holtz for you!  I'm splitting a package between two weeks and this weeks giveaway will be Retro Circles!

Oh, and last weeks winner, is once again Linda B!  Here's her gorgeous card:

Scrappy Chick Sunday Sketch Challenge

Happy 2012!!  I'm back with my second sketch challenge for you!  But first, you want to know last challenge's winner, right?  I had Random.org pick my winner for me and it chose Linda B!  (She had two cards in the drawing so odds were in her favor!)  Linda, shoot me an email with your snail mail!  Here's Linda's fabulous card:

Linda's blog is Linda B's Crafty Creations.  Here's her other entry, I have to share them all since I had only 3 entries this week :)

And here's Lea of Ink-Positive's entry.  All 3 cards were so awesome I had to share!

Thanks for playing my friends!  So without further ado, heres the next challenge.  You have until Friday night January 13th at 10pm EST to enter.  PLEASE use Mr Linky so I can find your creations and everyone else can go check them out too!

For my card today I've used the cool Belly Bands with inserts from Lifestyle Crafts.  I cut the piece out, then inked the whole thing with my versamark pad and embossed it with Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel from Stampendous!  (What's that you say?  Thats new!! ) Yep, and here's a sneaky peeky of that plus a couple of more new releases from Stampendous!  These products technically aren't releasing til CHA, but your local stores will be able to start ordering them next week, so be on the lookout!

I looped the ribbon through the whole in the Belly Band insert and tied it up adding some Gold twine for an accent.  The background is a new stamp from Stampendous! called  Garden background.  And the sentiment comes from a Perfectly Clear NEW set called Wonderland (wait til you see this one!!)

The background was inked with Pearlescent Beige Brilliance from Tsukineko and heat embossed with Clear Detail EP.  The sentiment is embossed with Detail Gold EP and cut out with Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Scallops dies.  For a final touch I added some gold metallic Dew Drops.

Here's the Tile Belly Band inserts:

The Belly bands:
(I cut off the extra pieces that would fold to the back)

And the Nesting Scallops:

Alrighty!  I'm done with another massively long post, sorry!  I do hope you'll play along with my challenge!  The sketch can be flipped around and sentiment moved or interpreted of course to be elsewhere, LOL.

Oh! And what would a challenge be without a prize??   For this challenge I am offering up 2 large and 3 small jars of gorgeous Stampendous! ultra fine glitters!! Can you say ba-ling??

The Scrappy Chick Sunday Sketch Challenge: Merry & Magical

Good morning!  I've decided its time to offer up sketch challenges again!  I just couldn't wait for the new year, so here's the first and it will run for 2 weeks, you have until Saturday, December 31st at 8pm EST to submit your entry! If you are using a public gallery please label your tags as "SCSSC01".

For my sample today I have actually drawn the sketch to go with the card that I created first!

My card  uses Merry Magical from Stampendous!  Its been embossed in Stampendous! Clear Bark Embossing Powder onto scallop circles cut from  Nesting Scallop dies  by Lifestyle Crafts.  I love these because you get so many more shapes for the same amount as the Spellbinders dies!

Here's a closeup of the  main panel.  The circles were then layered onto the center cut out of the Scandinavian  Hearts die from Cheery Lynn Designs.  It is one large die which cuts out the frame and the center which looks like a snowflake to me :)  Its a lovely combination  and there is never wasted space on a die from CLD!

Here's the Scandinavian Hearts die.

The pattern papers are from the Journey collection by Authentique Paper.  Authentique is one of my absolute favorite new paper lines!!

I have up for grabs for this challenge a Cheery Lynn Designs die that I happen to have 2 of, LOL.  Its called Polynesian Sails Oval.  I'm sorry, but for now US winners only.

I hope you'll join me!  Have a wonderful Sunday...only 6 shopping days...eeek!!
