A Blooming Spring

It may still be cold outside be we are ready for a blooming spring at Dreamweaver Stencils!  Come join us for this months challenge and show us your Spring, Easter, or St Patty's day creations and your name could be drawn to win a FREE stencil of your choosing!

I decided to take my card in a slightly different springy direction this morning by simply using some spring colors with this adorable new Open Owl Stencil.  He was stenciled with Pearlescent Embossing Paste and then sprinkled with Eye of the Tiger, Sapphire, and Glacier Lake Metallic FX Powders.  I then heated the paste to see the magic pop up (Molten Magic Technique).

My background papers are new from Bo Bunny, ribbon by May Arts, and Dream Stencil is from DWS stenciled in Walnut Stain distress ink.

Please be sure to visit my teammates' blogs this week and leave them some love, and we hope to see you play along with our challenge!

The Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peeks Day 1

Happy Tuesday!  I am so over the moon this week because its Sneak Peek week at The Cat's Pajamas and I get to play along with the Cat Pack!  Meow!  We'll be peeking a new stamp set each day through Monday and ending with a Blog Hop on Tuesday November 27th...my birthday!  What a great present for me... he he he

Before I show you my peek today, here's a word from Alma...

The Cat's Pajamas is now 10 years old! Alma started making rubber stamps at her dining room table, hand cutting rubber and cushion and attaching them to wood blocks to sell to the local stamp stores where she was teaching.

So much has happened to stamping in 10 years. But our love of stamping is still going strong. So this release, we are excited to celebrate the way we started. With rubber stamps. Not just any rubber stamps. Cling Stamp sets for easy storage and positioning. Perfect for those who love rubber, but also love the convenience and ease of clear. Limited Edition because these stamps are extra special. Lovingly assembled at Alma's dining room table. Just like she did 10 years ago. So snap them up, because only a small number will be made. Her table is only so big.

OK, so are you ready to see the newest penguin on the block??  This little cutie is from the new set "Snow Love".  Is he not the cutest little thing ever??  I used this month's TCP sketch (see the sketch HERE to play along) for my layout and some new Bo Bunny papers.

I also used two of the new Cut Ups dies from this release!  The circle element is actually a new Star Rosette that I left flat and tucked under the olive panel.  And the snowflake border is art of the new Holiday Toppers die...just wait til you see this!  Here's what Alma shared about the awesome new dies:

There are Five CutUps Dies in this release. Along with some "classics" that belong in every die collection, we are so excited to introduce our "Toppers" line. They are shapes that you can use the positive and negatives of to create borders and panels. They are open-ended so that you can create panels of any size using the toppers. You can place them individually or use them together. Endless possibilities!

Here's the link to today's sneak peek thread in the Split Coast Stamper's Forum.  PLUS be sure to check in the "In it to win It": thread to find out how you can win something from the Winter 2012 Collection!

Here's what I used today from the New Winter Collection:

Thanks for popping in today.  I won't be playing along tomorrow, but check back Thursday!

Today is not only Challenge day again at Dreamweaver Stencils, but I also have a featured tutorial over at Paper Craft Planet  showing you how to use Crackle Embossing Paste.  Be sure to head over for a chance to win a stencil of your choosing!

I used Mittens stencil for my card today along with Crackle and Matte Black embossing pastes.  After both layers of paste were dry I added Tim Holtz distress inks with sponge daubers then  some clear embossing powder.    I used Antique Linen all over and Barn Door on the edges.  I then added my clear EP and heated.

Here is what my final card looks like:

For details on how to achieve this look be sure to visit my tutorial on PCP!  And don't forget to stop by all the Dream Teams' blogs today to see all the Christmas goodness.

Here's  better look at Cocoa, colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I also added some black glitter to the seeds and some clear glaze to her nose.  My papers are from the Block Party collection by Bo Bunny.  Star border die from MFT.

I printed a sentiment on my computer cause I didn't have anything quite right. KWIM?

My layout for today's card uses this weeks Split Coast Stampers sketch.

Haunting Hannah and Hoot

Its day 2 of peeks for the new Spunky Spooks line from Simply B Stamps and today we are introducing Haunting Hannah and Hoot!  My ghostly gal just couldn't wear ordinary ghost white so I gave her a lime green dress for spooking!  And, best yet, she is complete with chains for rattling!

I cut Hannah out with a Nesting Circle die then a gray mat with Nesting Doily circle die, both from QuicKutz for Lifestyle Crafts.  Papers are from Graphic 45, Bo Bunny, and 3 Bugs in a Rug.  Hannah's chains were colored with a silver spica pen from copic, the rest of her in copic markers.

I used this weeks Deconstructed Sketch for my layout:

And this weeks color combo from Color Throwdown:

Scrappy Chick (Monday) Sunday Sketch Challenge

I'm laying a bit of catch up today!  I spent the weekend in DC with Rachael and Michael for the "Battle at the Capital" Cheer Competition.  The girls were fabulous!  We didn't have much time for sight seeing, but we did get to the National Museum of Air and Space and the National Museum of Natural History for a bit yesterday.  While I was gone I left Taylor home, recouping from Mono...I thought...with her brother Perry. But she got worse over the weekend. Its really taking its toll on her, poor baby.

So, anyway I ma a day late with my biweekly sketch challenge, but since I'm the boss thats ok, right?  So I have a new sketch for you today to last the next two weeks and I hope you will play along!

Today's card for my sketch is one of the cards from my Dreamweaver Stencil basics class.  The whole class was on dry embossing and different ways to jazz that up.  For this card I left the LL017 Cameo Stencil in place after dry embossing then I stippled Gold Galaxy Versafine ink around the oval border.  I removed the stencil then heated this part.

Next I replaced the stencil and then applied Versamark ink to the lady portion only using a large finger dauber.  Remove stencil once again then add Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel from Stampendous!  Remove any excess powder that stuck to frame portion with a dry brush and then heat.

The sentiment is from LG691 Thank You, dry embossed and stenciled with more Gold Galaxy ink.  Ppaers are from Bo Bunny, Crochet ribbon is by May Arts, ad the scallop border was die cut with the Edge It Kit from Lifestyle Crafts.  Oval Frames were cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities.

Here's the sketch if you want to play along!  Please use the Mr Linky tool at the bottom of the post so we can come check out your creation! If you don't have a blog or gallery feel free to email me at thescrappychick at gmail dot com.  Also feel free to interpret the sketch however you want!

You have until Saturday night, March 17 at 8pm EST to play.  Due to shipping, only US submissions will be entered for the prize.  This fortnight's prize:

A Cosmo Cricket Pixie-licious 6x6 paper pad!

And before I forget, last weeks randomly picked winner (using Random.org) is Lea Kimmel of (th)INK Positive with this adorable creation:

Be sure to go over and leave Lea some love on her post!  Thanks to all my friends who have been playing!

My title was created with Nesting Pennants, Nesting Frame 3, Clip It Kit, and High Rise alphabet...all dies from QuicKutz by Lifestyle Crafts.

Here's one of the cute felines from the set and one of the many sentiments.  Below is the other sassy miss.

Miller Munster

**Post 1 of 2 for today**

More peeks of the Teen Scene Munsters Birthday collection from Simply B Stamps!  Today I have Miller Munster for you enjoying his slice of birthday cake.  And he's so confident in himself that he can wear pink!  My colors were picked for this adorable Bo Bunny paper.  I used this weeks Sketch Saturday sketch for my layout.

Here's a closeup of Miller and you can also really see the Perfect Pearls mist on the bg paper.  I masked the lower corner with Flourish stencil by Dreamweaver Stencils and sprayed Aqua Perfect Pearls through the flourish and also in the top corner of the paper.

And I couldn't resist adding a cute cupcake from the Sweetheart Release by Lifestyle Crafts.  Its from the die Baked Goods.  And instead of buttons or brads for the 3 elements in the sketch I added hearts from the new Hearts die, also by LSC.

OK, be sure to hop over to the Simply B Stamps blog for more inspiration today, and hop back here later for another post this morning!

Challenge List:
Speedy the Cat: use Mists

Simply Betty stamps Sneaky Peek

Its party week at Simply Betty Stamps!  We are peeking all the new Teen Scene Munster Birthday images this week :)  Today we are featuring Party Lola, sailing off with her bouquet of balloons!

But first I have to say a huge thank you to Betty for inviting me to her team all those months ago!  I adore her images and she has been the most wonderful friend!  AND I finally got to meet Betty and her family at CHA last week...it was a blast!  Betty and Rio were awesome hostesses!

I colored Lola to match the Bo Bunny cupcake paper, added a chain punch from EK Success and a large corner that I hand cut.  The sentiment is by A Muse.  I also added some Glossy Accents to the balloons to give them a fun shine :)

Be sure to hop over to the Simply B stamps blog for more inspiration today and the rest of the week from the rest of the DT!  Thanks for flying by to visit today!

Dream Team Peeks

And the peeks continue!  For today's card I used the new Festive Thank You stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils.  My card is extra blingy thanks to lots of fun glitters from Stampendous! that I used for the double glitter technique.

I started by applying Coconut soap to the back of my stencil then set that aside and stuck one side of the double sticky paper onto cardstock.  When I had my glitters ready to go I pulled off the top of the sticky paper and applied the side with the soap onto the sticky paper.  Next is the fun part of adding your colors.  If you use a small straw and angle the stencil its pretty easy to get the colors just where you want them!

When you have all the open spaces filled, then you gently pull the stencil off and apply a coat of a neutral glitter...I used Crystal Multi.  Simply sake off all the excess, trim and mount!  My paper are from the Jazmyne collection by Bo Bunny and I added a few Dew Drops on the panel that I cut with Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Frames 3.

Be sure to hop around to the other Dream Team's blogs for our last day of peeks.  We ar meeting up at CHA  this weekend!  I'll be sure to take lots of pics next week, and I'll have a few posts scheduled for you as well!

Clean and simple

I have another card for you today from Lifestyle Crafts.  This one was quick yet elegant.  Perfect for a sympathy, get well, etc.  I started with the same paper as yesterdays, Gabrielle from Bo Bunny, texturizing the main panel with one of the LSC Whimsy embossing folders.

Along the bottom is a border cut with one of the edges from the LSC Edge It kit.  I added yummy yummy sheer May Arts Ribbon and embossed a quick sentiment from Stampendous' Amore Frame in Clear Bark powder from the Scenic Selection Embossing kit, and voila!

Here's a closer look at the embossed panel:

Isn't it gorgeous how the embossing looks over a pattern?  Again all edges were inked with Antique Linen distress ink from Tim Holtz.

Ok, thats it this morning!  I'm off to work :)  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Lifestyle Crafts meets Bo Bunny

Happy Monday!  Today I thought I'd share one of the samples I created for my Lifestyle Crafts demo from this weekend at Enchanted Cottage.  All papers are from Bo Bunny's Gabrielle collection and Bo Bunny Double Dot papers.

For the first card I used the LSC Edge It kit for the dark brown border above a lighter brown that was embossed with one of the Dainty folders.  It gives a lovely vintage and almost sanded look on top of a pattern paper.  All the edges of the papers were distressed with Tim Holtz's Antique Linen distress ink.

The main panel was stamped with Rose Corset from Stampendous! in new Aged Taupe embossing enamel onto pattern paper then cut with LSC Nesting Ovals.  I colored in the flowers only with copics.  Here's a peek at the embossed part and the gorgeous Crochet ribbon from May Arts.

Challenge List:
Make It Monday: Linky party
Sparkles Forum: anything but Christmas
Ribbon Carousel: anything Goes
Paper Creations Ink: dies and Punches

I have a bunch more of these cards to show this week and next on the days where I don't have DT projects to share, so be sure to come back and see the rest!
