Hydrangea in Pink

Happy Memorial Day! A quick post for you today as we have friends coming to grill out in a couple of hours!

I have to admit that I don’t have a green thumb in the least, as much as I love flowers in my yard and house I seem to kill them all. So, I have to enjoy stamping and coloring them instead.

This is Jumbo Cling Hydrangea, one of the new Jumbo Cling stamps from Stampendous! Not the newest…cause there were 3 brand spankin’ new ones released just this week! Stay tuned for a special Blog Hop featuring these babies coming soon!

I hope you have a wonderful day with friends and family. And don’t forget what today is about…all those who have fought and died for our country. We thank you all for your sacrifice.

Get in Gear!

I was in a bit of a Pirate mood the other day, but when I pulled out my Pirate Kimmie Stamps, this little cutie asked me to please stamp her instead! This is Lavinia, a Steampunk darling from Kraftin' Kimmie! This was from one of her very first releases and I still LOVE her!

I dressed Lavinia up in some lovely SteamPunk Debutante papers from Graphic 45. I even added a few ears in the corners with the cute gear stamp that comes with Lavinia.

This weeks Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge is "Text Me" and I used the text papers from the paper line for the main panel. The layout is based on this weeks CPS sketch Challenge, which Kimmie just happens to be sponsoring!

For the center strip I used a Tim Holtz border die, spritzed with lots of Glimmer Mist and then rubbed with Metallic chalks.

After I colored Lavinia with Copics, I also used some of the metallic chalks on her too. I used a tiny paint brush to get it on her dress and goggles.

Challenge List:
Stamp Something: Something Sentimental
Creative Card Crew: Anything Goes

Supplies:
Stamps: Lavinia, Kimmie's Steampunk Sentiments (Kraftin Kimmie Stamps)
Paper: Steampunk Debutante (Graphic 45), Core'dinations
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Metallic pastels (Craf-T Products); Glimmer Mist; Oval Nestabilties (Spellbinders); Tim Holtz border die (Sizzix); ribbon; copics; word punch (SU!)

So that's it tonight! Some reminders:

A Walk on the Betty side...

A what you ask? Well, I could say a walk on the dark side....but seriously Betty's stamps are quirky and fun, not dark. Hehe. Anywho, you may have noticed that Simply Betty Stamps has put out a call for some scrapbookers for her Design Team. Here's the info if you are interested.

I used this weeks sketch from Sketchy Thursdays blog. Here's that sketch:

OK, what little extras make this a bit more Betty? (Betty asked that entrants make their pages Betty style) Well, I thought my spiderweb ornaments were just to dies for :) Who wouldn't want those on their tree??

The cute little shimmery skulls I found in a package on clearance at Michael's a while back...I mean what gives???

So here is Candy Cane London, a digi from Simply Betty Stamps. I just love her sassy eyes. They perfectly match the sassy and mischievous eyes of my DD and her BFF in the photo. I decked London out in my fav Christmas color comb...red, green, pink, and turquoise. The traditional papers are by Little Yellow Bicycle and the funky Turquoise print is by Love, Elsie which I have been hoarding for like forever.

Now, ny sweet Emo Elf needs bit of bling and fuzz right? So, I flocked her hat rim with Stampendous! Snow Cone Blue Fun Flock.

AND, my favorite are her Dorothy inspired Red glitter Shoes...using Stampendous! Candy Apple Red Glitter and a Quickie glue pen.

Notice her little spider buddies prowling around? Those are all Stampendous! Class-a-Peel stickers. Spider web punch is by Martha Stewart. Even Martha has a wicked side :)

Lastly, the sentiment...Doodle alphabet from Stampendous!, no longer available unless you can find it in a big box store. and why beware? Well, take another look at those girls' faces? They are always cooking some kind of trouble.

Alrighty, off to finish errands now that the monsoon has ceased. Then maybe Pirates tonight?? Thanks for popping in! Have a great weekend and please say hi!!

Just buggin' ya

So, the whole weekend slipped by without me uploading anything! I've ben busy creating more top-secret samples for Stampendous! for the July CHA show and coloring images for upcoming other releases from Pixie Dust Studio!

So, I had to pull something out of the archives for you! This is a little card that I created for the Cottage last year before I left. Sorry I don't remember who made the stamps! The papers are from Bo Bunny as is the ribbon.

OK, so just a quick post for tonight. I hope to get something up new for you tomorrow!

Thor was actually pretty good IF you like Comic books and action movies and a touch of Sci Fi. Hopefully we'll see the new Pirates next weekend. My youngest never saw all of the other 3 apparently! So we need a Johnny Deep / Orando Bloom marathon first. Sigh. Poor me.

Thanks for stopping in!

I combined Marci with this week's sketch at the Inky Impressions Challenge blog. Here it is if you'd like to play along!

Here's my full card. I used the cute Ad Lib papers by Bo Bunny again. Just can't get enough of these colors!! For my sentiment I cut one of the blurbs off the pattern paper and stuck it up above her head, which I popped up. I also stitched all my layers again! Just love that look :)

Starting to see Gray Hares?

I was lucky enough to win this adorable set called "Gray Hares" from Skipping Stones Design and thought I would create a card with it this weekend!

I used the color combo from this weeks Play Date Cafe Challenge as my inspiration since it had Gray in it! Here's the color swatch if you want to play along:

Here's the card I came up with. I pulled out random scraps of Bazzill colors until I had a match...the strip of pattern paper is an old piece from Anna Griffin. All the stamped images on the card are from the cute set...it has tons of sentiments as well as multiple rabbits and other misc. accessories. Buttons are from Basic Gray and tied up with some Gray Baker's Twine.

For the layout of the card I of course used this weeks Skipping Stones Design sketch! It seemed a bit odd at first but I just LOVE the way it turned out...especially my upside down hare :)
And here is another closeup of the cute hares. I hand cut my tags, then drew some simple lines around the edges of each.

Alrighty then, thats it for now. I've had a nasty cold for about 36 hours and I HAVE to go stamp. Have a great day! Thanks for hopping by!
