Pixie Dust STudio Release Day

Its release day at Pixie Dust Studio today! Kathy has released the the cutest new set called Cupid's Corner. Here's a pic of all the images in the new set. They can be purchased separately or as a bundle at Pixie Dust Studio.

For my card I used the image Jar of Hearts. This is such an adorable image and very fun to color with all the dots and stripes and hearts. I matched it up to Peacock paper from Bo Bunny

Here's the closeup of the jar and the coloring.

The 3 hearts were cut with the Standard Hearts Nestabilities templates and I added a pearl and some Bo Bunny ribbon.

OK, thats it! I'm sitting out in Anaheim, taking a break from CHA. Went to Disneyland with my friend Laura tonight and had a blast! Back to CHA tomorrow :)

Stampendous!

Cyndi (me!!)

Jennie

Rachel

Wendy

The first project I have to share with you today is a large card that I created with the new Jumbo Cling Rubber Hydrangea set. This flower is simply gorgeous and has so many possibilities. I chose to do a resist effect by stamping it on smooth white card stock with a Versamark stamp pad which I then heat embossed with Stampendous! White embossing powder.

Using multiple colors of Versacolor ink I swiped the small pads over the embossed image. After I was happy with the mixed color effect I wiped the excess off the embossed image leaving the white standing out.

The beauty of these new large stamps is that I could have stopped there for the card front and it would have been a standard A2 size. But I chose to make the card larger by making this panel just one of the layers. The sentiment is from SSC1117 Sincere Sentiments Perfectly Clear Stamp set. cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilitie and then I added some gems in the corner from Creative Impressions.

The second project I want to share today is a layout that I created with 2 different new Jumbo Cling Rubber Sets. The 3 large medallions on the left of the page are from the new Jumbo Cling Rubber Thinking of You set.

These I embossed with a versamark pad and Stampendous! Paprika embossing powder. I added a small pearl to the center of each (Creative Impressions). I love that Stampendous! has so many colors of embossing powders. Sometmes I want a bright effect, but in this instance I wanted the color to be very subtly different from the background

Beside the photo of Katie, I also embossed the swirl stamp from the new Jumbo Cling Rubber Rose set. This was embossed in a darker shade of brown…this time I used Clear Bark embossing powder. I added a dark brown felt flower to the flourish and then gave it leaves using some Stampendous! Velvet Class a peel stickers.

All of the new jumbo sets are simply gorgeous! They are perfect not only for cards but for scrapbooking, home décor and more! I hope you’ve enjoyed visiting with me today. Now its time to hop over to Jennie’s blog. I am sure she will have amazingly inspirational eye candy!

Don't forget to leave comments on EVERYONE'S blog post in order to qualify for the drawing. Stampendous! will be giving away 2 each of the 9 new Jumbo Cling Rubber sets plus a new Jumbo Clear Handle! You have until midnight Tuesday to leave comments!

Thanks so much for hopping by today!

Stampendous! Sneak Peek!!

Its Stampendous! Saturday and I have a sneaky peeky for you of whats coming up in the new Stampendous! January Catalog next week! I absolutely love this image, called Shell Trio. I embossed it with Periwinkle, Olive, Chinese Red, and Paprika Embossing Powders, all from Stampendous!

The edge of this mat was ripped then I drug it through my Versamark pad and embossed it with more of the Chinese Red powder. The pattern paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle. The red was the back of the multi colored pattern. It had a bit of a textured pattern to it, but I gave it more by dry embossing it with the Mesh Cuttlebug folder. Finally I lightly sanded across the top to bring out part of the white core.

The background of the card I heat embossed with a matching stamp called Shell Background, also coming in the newest Stampendous! catalog. It was embossed with Periwinkle powder on Huckleberry Pie Bazzill card stock. The ribbon is by Creative Impressions.

For more peeks of this set, head to the Stampendous! facebook page or for more peeks of other new sets head to the Stampendous! blog. Coming to CHA? Be sure to stop by Booth #2233!!

Bugaboo Stamps Birthday Bash Challenge

I got caught up today in making some fun cards for the Birthday Bash going on over at Bugaboo Stamps! Such fun, unique and whimsical images!!

This is Ava Cupcake from the Ava Deacon Collection by Bugaboo Stamps. I colored her with some fun bright copic colors that I matched to this old but fun Doodlebug paper that was in my stash.

The Birthday wishes sentiment is by A Muse. I added some free handed doodling around this panel as well as around the main image. And more of those FUN pom poms at the bottom!!

LOVE the little skulls on the cuppy cake! This card is for the Birthday Challenge at the Catch the Bug Challenge blog.

Another card made with Deacon:

This one is for the Anything Goes Mini Challenge. (Also at the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog. There are mini challenges all week) I added a row of Bazzill clear Bling up the side of the black mat. Paper for this is from the new Bo Bunny line.

A closeup of Deacon with his skull rose. Love it!!

Ok, thats it for tonight! Have a great one :0

Mushroom Minx

Here's a card I created with this sweet fairy from Phindy's Place called Flower Top Fairy Mushroom Minx. I love how she matches my Graphic 45 Fairy papers so I had to have her!

The challenge this week at Phindy's Place Challenge Blog is Lace and Pearls. I have the pearls, but I was thinking Pearls and Bows when I made the card...oops...read that wrong! Oh well, the brocade ribbon in top top corner is quite lacy looking right?

I had fun with this card using a cut out potcard from the Graphic 45 pad for one of my layers. The top corner is rolled up. I distressed the stamp and tore the bottom of the base layer before inking them with Tim Holtz distress inks. Flowers are by Prima, pearls are from my stash. Ribbon is by Fancy Pants.

Isn't she just a doll??

And here's the sentiment. Its part of the same sheet of Graphic 45 that the postcard came off of, but perfect for the card sentiment!

Challenge List:
Phindy's Place: Lace & Pearls
Wags n Whiskers: use a fairy
Stamping for the Weekend: Getting Warmed Up

Thanks for stopping in! One more post to come tonight, so check back!!

Lollipops Friends Forever

Woohoo! Its Friday! I hope to spend all day in my Craft Room if possible!! I have a card for you this morning that I created for the 2nd by LORI Designs challenge :) Its another color challenge and a fun one.

I pulled out some of the original Lollipops that I bought: Ethan and Gracie. They are available in Lori's store HERE. The only patterned paper that I used for this one was a background brown polka dot piece by October Afternoon. I went back to cardstock basics to get my colors into the scheme! If you want to play along, Here's the color combo:

For the frame I cut it with my Spellbinders polka dot frame then airbrushed through it with E59 onto Sahara Sand cardstock. I cut the frame again out of Pomegranate Bazzill and put that piece in the middle. Ethan and Gracie are colored with my copics, the colors are pictured at the end of the post.

The sentiment is from Pink Cat Studio, punched with some circle punches then I added a button and some Divine Twine to the top.

  • Supplies:
  • Stamps: Ethan Lollipop & Gracie Lollipop (by LORI designs); sentiment (Pink Cat Studio)
  • Paper: Pomegranate & Buttercup (Bazzill); Sahara Sand (SU!); white (Neenah); Fly a Kite pp (October Afternoon)
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Accessories: Polka Dot Frame (Spellbinders); punches (SU!); ribbon (Michael's); button (Basic Grey); Divine Twine; Copic Markers

Challenge List:
Stamp Something: Cute Somethings
Simply Create: Use your punches
Beary Sweet Challenge: Friendship or Love

Well, that about sums it up, but check back later...I am in stamping mode today!!

Button Up!

Thursday means Challenge time at Pixie Dust Studio, and this week's challenge is "Button Up", just add some buttons to your project. Easy Peasy!

For this challenge I used another of the newest images from the "Dino-mite" Collection from Pixie Dust Studio. This one is called Friendship is dinomite. These bugs are so cute and I thought they went perfectly with this new paper from Graphic 45. After I cut the background pieces with Spellbinders dies I inked the edges with Cats eyes chalk ink (Coral Rose & Olive Pastel)

I also added just a touch of the Rose ink to my flowers. And of course my bug had to have a bit of sparkle so there is Stampendous! Melon pearl glitter on her wings (applied with a quickie qlue pen) and some Stampendous! Mint Green glitter on the centers of the flowers.

The sentiment is from Magnolia Stamps. and theres more buttons! (old ones from my stash...I think they are My Minds Eye)

So, why don't you play along with us today at Pixie Dust Studio Challenge blog? You could win a FREE image! And you don't have to use a PDS image to play, but we sure love when you do!

ALSO, don't forget, Pixie is still looking for more designers! Go to THIS post for the details!

Challenge List:
Pixie Dust Studio: Button Up!
Cute Card Thursday: Recipe, 1,2,3

Winter Pixie

I love winter...sometimes. Having lived in NC all of my life I always wanted more snow because until the last couple of years it just didn't ever snow in NC! Well, it did this year for sure! We have gotten MORE snow in the last 6 weeks this year than in the last total 10 years I think :) I'm about sick of my kids out of school and going in late, but I still like the cold weather.

I used the new January Pixie for this card, she's available over in the Pixie Dust Studio store. I've colored her in blues and greens to match this fun paper by 3 Bugs in a Rug. (This is the back of cute Penguin paper...and its still super cute!!) I have the paper available in my online Boutique.

Here's a closeup of Pixie, so you can see the Black glaze that I added to her hat and buttons to make them super shiny! (Don't forget that there is a DT CALL going on right now at Pixie Dust Studio, and Kathy has a FREE Pixie there for you to snatch up!)

For my layout I used this weeks sketch from The Sweetest Thing. I cut my circles with nestabilties, then cuttlebugged my circle with Snowflake Dots.

The sentiment is from a CC Designs set called Snowmen. I punched it out with the word window punch from SU! then popped it up on the card. The ribbon is Bazzill and will also be available in The Scrappy Chick Boutique!

Challenge List:
Pile It On: Anything Goes
A Spoonful of Sugar: Blue & Green
Meljens Designs: Square or Round
Craft Your Days Away: Anything Goes
Top Tip Tuesday: All Sentimental
Stamp Something: Anything Goes
Stampin' For the Weekend: New & Blue (image)

Thanks for surfing by my corner of the world today! Hope you have a great one :)

Scrappy Monday: Snow Day

What do you do when you have a sick child at home and lots of snow on the ground? Scrapbook LAST year's snow pictures! Well, actually I have been completing some half finished layouts and this was one I found that I never shared with you guys.

The pic is of Rachael and Michael from last winter ago but I scrapped it last summer some time or another. I just LOVE the way it turned out! The tag is hung on some sheer Bazzill dotted ribbon that runs the length of the page and overlaps the snowflake border. Notice that I HAND cut around all those persnickety flakes!

Here's another closeup of the cut out flakes that also shows some felt snowflakes that were treated with some Icicle Stickles.

The title is created on more of the same tags (I think they were from Making Memories but the packaging was long gone) The letters were cut out from a border strip on the pattern paper. All papers are by Fancy Pants. The rub on is a Bohemia pack by My Mind's Eye, adhered directly to the photograph.

More of the snowflakes (these are from my old SU! stash). They were attached with SEI Brads from the Dill Blossom collection. You can also see the corners of the pattern paper I stamped with a Bo Bunny flourish stamp in teal ink. Lastly I added some stickles around some of the flourishes.

OK thats it for this one. Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you had a great Monday :) My kids are out of school today so it has been a nice lazy day, but activites are still on for tonight. Sigh.
