Chickie Hop, hop, hop...

Wow! Sunday? Where did this week go? It has been insane around here as usual. I have had some issues as well with kids, but I think everything has worked out for the best. Thanks to the gals from my class at Enchanted Cottage the other day and all your prayers and well-wishes. My mood is back to normal manic and full-throttle!

So, at the class I was showing the gals how to mask your image after its colored, then to cut it out with a Nestabilities die and mask the outside border at the same time while airbrushing the background. even though my die slipped and my border isn't well-defined, the image turned out so cut that I had to turn it into a card!

Thus this bright version of Chickie hop was born. If you have known me for a while you know that this is one of my favorite Stampendous! images :) I didn't use any pattern papers on this one, can you believe it?? But the image was all colored so I just matched it up with solid color papers and used the sketch challenge from Splitcoast Stampers this week as the guide for my layout.

Here's the pic of the copics that I used. Not a ton of colors on this one. I did add some yellow and Fruit punch stickles after the fact (and yes, Laura if you read this I am sorry, no Stampendous! glitter...but I don't have any yellow!!) The green background was run through my Cuttlebug with a QuicKutz embossing folder but its so hard to see in the pic.

Alrighty, thats it for now. I have to finish typing up my post for Method Monday tomorrow, so please check back in for a fun tutorial and card! Thanks for hoppin' by to see me today :0

InStyle Stamps Blog Hop!

Its Blog Hop Time! If you arrived her from the awesome Maylee's blog then you are in the right place! If you just hopped in, you can start at the beginning of the hop at the InStyle Stamps blog :)

Our theme this month was flowers...so I used Ginger, out in her garden, planting flowers. She's one of my favorite Retro images from InStyle Stamps! I used the layout from last weeks Friday sketchers blog. My background green pp I ran through my Cuttlebug with a QuicKutz embossing folder...Diamonds, then rubbed over the top lightly with my Split Pea Versacolor cube.

All the pattern paper is from Fancy Pants, the flowers are all Primas from my stash, and he sentiment is by Unity. Nothing much else too hard here. I just love to color nowadays! The rest of the supplies are listed below.

OK, so from here its time to hop on over to the mega-talented Janelle and see what she has cooking for you today! Have fun on the rest of the hop! Please don't forget to check back in Monday when I am hosting Method Monday for InStyle Stamps, I'll be doing a tutorial and previewing some new release images!!

I'm loopy for Loopy Blooms!

Good morning! I'm in a great mood today and I hope it keeps up for the day! All the kids got up early, didn't argue, and were even helpful. It was amazing. I swear aliens came and zapped my household then replaced every member with a foreign entity. Hmmm....

OK, on to the eye candy! Today I used one of the gorgeous new sets that is featured in the January 2010 Stampendous! catalog. Its called "Loopy Blooms". All the flowers are separate, along with add-ons and verses, etc. Its a very versatile set and I just adore the sassy little blooms!! You will be seeing a lot of this set in the near future too (wink)

OK, so I put al three blooms on one large acrylic block and stamped them onto some Neenah white cs. I added some bees and the thankful sentiment before I ran it through my cuttlebug to cut it. The background paper is Bo Bunny "Flutter Butter", a really pretty line that hit our store in late fall, but seems more springy to me. Below are the copics that I matched it up with. And all the other supplies are listed below.
So, thats it for now. I have to head to work for the day and do some major organizing! Be sure to stop back in over the next few days...tomorrow is the InSTyle Stamps Blog Hop and early next week I have peeks of new stamps, a tutorial and more!

As always, thanks for stopping by my little corner of the blogosphere and remember that you comments always make my day!

Sassy Cheryl's

Hey guys. I guess that you have figured out by now that I forgot to schedule my post before I headed to work this morning, huh? Well, here you go, finally. Today I am featuring a couple of cards using digi images that I downloaded from Sassy Cheryl's, a pretty new company that I stumbled on. Her images are absolutely adorable, very different from all the others out there. Very much like illustrations in a children's book. Each one tells its own story. Above is a peek of the 2nd card when you scroll down, but first...
First up is my card I made with "Duck Dance". I mean, how stinkin' cute are these guys? I know, right? I colored them with my copics to match this fun SEI paper that I picked up at CHA. Then I added Moonlight white smooch to the ducks bodies to shimmer them up a bit. The grass was glittered a touch, as were some of the pink spots on the duck's top. The happy Easter sentiment is from a Close to my Heart set, the ribbon is Stampin' Up!
Above are the copics that I Used for this one, and below are the supplies:

  • Stamps: Duck Dance digi (Sassy Cheryl's); sentiment (CTMH)
  • Paper: white cs (Neenah); pink, brown cs (Bazzill); pp (SEI)
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
  • Accessories: Large Scallop Circles and Labels 1 Nestabilites (Spellbinders); flowers (Prima); ribbon (SU!); buttons (MME); Mint & Rose glitter (Stampendous); Copic markers: YR000, YR02, YR04, R81, R83, R85, YG000, YG01, YG03, E53, E57, E59 (Imagination International)

Here is the full card for "The Simple Gift" This one I printed pretty large then framed it with a Technique Tuesday tile and airbrushed the inside of the frame. I usedc the same SEI paper and same basic colors. the ribbon is from Michael's and the sentiment is by Elzybells, I just omitted and did it half and half instead of all in a row.
Go check out Cheryl's great images! Many are just $2! a total steal if you ask me! There will be a new Challenge blog next week, and She has a new group on Papercraft Planet as well and is giving away a free image there!

OK, so I am signing off for the night! have a great week and stop back in to see me another day :)

-Cyndi

SC268: Shopping Diva

Good morning! Its a beautiful Sunday here in NC! Starting to feel like I actually live in the South. So, I had a bit of stamping time last night while Michael played on the Xbox. The day was spent driving kids to and from so a break was nice!

But, on the kids note I did get a call that Rachael's Math Counts team placed 2nd in the Regional competition yesterday! WooHoo! State Competition here we come!

Did you notice I added a few blinkies? I was having problems rearranging my gadgets and I thought it was Blogger. No. It was using Chrome as my browser. Firefox is better. Go figure.

OK, but enough of kids and tech talk. Back to the stamping, right? Well, one of the blinkies I added is a "Pixie Dust Challenge Star". I won the challenge last week at The Pixie Dust Challenge blog with my pink/black/red/white card which you can see HERE! Cool!

So, I won a free image and I chose "Shopping Diva" from Pixie Dust Studio. She even comes with her own little "Princess Pup" bonus image! Here she is a bit more close up:
I think I should have left well enough alone when I added the Glimmer Mist at the end, it made her a bit fuzzy for the photo. She was supposed to appear glitzy...which she does IRL, but the photos don't take well of Glimmer Mist and leave the crispness of the image in tack. Oh, well. Next time I will snap the photo, and THEN glimmer the card!

I used the sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers as the layout for the card. The sentiment is from an adorable set by Unity that has been very lonely for a long time. The rest of the supplies are listed below for those interested. The copics I used are also pictured below.
Well, thats it for now, but I am scheduling a post for you tomorrow since I won't have time to get one up then. As always thanks for stopping by and thanks for all the lovely comments!

InStyle Stamps peeks day 2

Good morning! I am back with another preview for you from InStyle Stamps! When I saw these new images a few weeks ago I was totally in love! For those of you who know me I am totally addicted to Paranormal Romance novels right now! (No, not just Twilight, the REAL adult Vampire type books...look at my list to the left....Laurel Hamilton, Charlaine Harris, JR ward, etc)

So, Ramie is right down my alley! She is just a gorgeous image and I had fun coloring her. I chose to give her Violet eyes, which seems to be a common theme amongst Paranormal writers. and they turned out pretty cool looking! For a change I colored first, then picked out papers and whatnot around my image.

I did my hair different today, you may have noticed. Less blending on black is a good thing I found. I picked some paper from Little Yellow Bicycle to pick up the purples and then looked for black accessories...the flowers are Prima (notice the cute skulls on the white one :) The sentiment is by A Muse from their last Fall line and I thought went perfectly!

The copics that I used are pictured below and the supplies are listed out as well. All of the new Anime and Retro images will be released tomorrow at InSTyle Stamps so be sure to head over and pick out a few! In the meantime...check out the ISS blog for more awesome samples!

Thanks for stopping by! Please be sure to say hi! -Cyndi

ISS Peek Day 1: Erica

Today is the first day of Sneak Peeks at InSTyle Stamps for February! I am so excited to share these images with you because they are sooooo cute! Today I have Erica, a new Retro image that will be arriving at the ISS webstore this Friday!

Erica was colored to match this fun retro looking paper from American Crafts. My only complaint is my "black" hair. I colored 2 different images and wasn't really happy with either. My coloring on the grays looks blurry and yucky. But, I think the rest of her turned out cute, especially her sparkly green eyeshadow!

I also made my own glittery buttons with clear glitter buttons from American Crafts and a Red AC slick writer. The sentiment is Verve. Below are the copics that I used.

OOpps! I forgot to tell you that I based this card on the Friday sketchers sketch for the week!

Be sure to check out the InStyle Stamps blog for links to the other DT's cards! and tomorrow I will be back with a new Anime image for you! Thanks for visiting today!

Jungle Pixie

Good Morning Monday! It is cold and rainy again here in NC. AT least no snow today, I hope :) My kids have lost almost their whole spring break at this point. Geesh.

OK, so today I have for you my card that I made for this weeks Pixie Challenge over at the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge blog. It is a color challenge this week...Red/Pink/Black/White...fun colors if you know me!! So, I chose Jungle Pixie...who was just screaming to be colored in pinks and black. Plus, BONUS...I got to use my new Tiger Stripe Sizzix embossing folder! It is so cool :) I embossed it on some pink Bo Bunny pattern paper, then rubbed the embossed areas with my Black Memento pad.

My favorite part of this image are her cute combat boots! Hehe. I got to practice my black/gray coloring quite a bit here and on her hair as well. I am so happy I stumbled onto Pixie Dust Studio! I don't remember whose blog I followed there a couple of weeks back, but thanks! I am totally loving all the digi image available now! I can't seem to afford to buy any real stamps lately, so this new trend really helps a girl to get new fresh images to play with!!

OK, SO I have to head next door to work in a few minutes. I am sitting at my local Coffee shop chilling for just a few minutes. So, have a great Monday. I will be back tomorrow with InStyle Stamps previews!

ISS Color Challenge

I have 2 cards for you today. They are both using InStyle stamps images :) The first is "Marissa", a digi coming soon to the ISS store. I made this card for this months Club anime Color Challenge. If you want to play along with us, you can find all the details at the Club Anime blog.

Marissa was colored with Copics, then I matched her up to the purple in the Little Yellow Bicycle print, the pink scrap from my stash, and the wine cs. The wine I ran through my Cuttlebug with a QuicKutz folder then added white dots to the raised dots in the middle of the diamond patterns. The sentiment is by Lizzie Anne Designs, from the set "Sketched SEntiments"

My second card I made for the InStyle Stamps Wednesday challenge this week..."Kiss the Girl" and to use Turquoise and Red. This is "Mike & Jessie", another digi from InSTyle.

OK, its been a long day. I had 2 copic classes today and ran kids around all over the place! Have a great Valentine's Day tomorrow!

Fluffles, my heart belongs to You!

Oh, sweet fluffles, I just love this kitty. He is my favorite character from Stampendous!. Here he is shooting cupids arrows at who knows who!

This was supposed to be a very simple little card for Michael to send as his Valentines, but it still turned out too much. We ended up with a waaay easier version with Changito instead. I didn't get a pic of that though, sorry.

So, no time to chat today, I have to head into work...big sale today, then I have 2 copic classes to teach tomorrow! Have a great Friday :) -Cyndi

You're my cup of tea

Good morning! I have for you today a card that I made for the Lizzie Anne Designs sketch challenge this week. You can see the sketch HERE on their blog. I used one of my new sets that I caved and bought while at CHA . I have always loved their images and I own a ton, but haven't bought any in a long while, what with trying to be a bit more thrifty. But this set was just calling my name!

Its called Tea Time and its the most adorable collection of tea pots, handles, spouts, and cups that can all be mixed and matched! Totally fun! My combo I colored with copics to match this fun "Mimosa" paper by SEI that also found its way home with me from CHA. The colors are shown and listed below.
The paper behind the striped SEI layer is actually the back of :Flirty Stripe" by Bo Bunny...but the pink was a near perfect match! the cardstock is by American Crafts but I don't recall the name of the brown.

OK, I have to head off to work now, so have a great day and thanks for stopping in!

-Cyndi

  • Supplies:
  • Stamps: Tea Time (Lizzie Anne Designs)
  • Paper: white cs (Neenah); brown cs (American Crafts); pink (Bo Bunny); stripe (SEI)

Stampendous! Birthday cards

Have you been over to the Stampendous! blog lately? They linked up all of the 2009 Design Team's blogs for you to go check out! There is some awesome talent on this list and I am humbled and thrilled to be included among them! And I can;t even begin to tell you what a thrill it was to open the new 2010 catalog and find tons of my cards n there...published! How cool! I have a handful of cards for you this morning, all using Stampendous! images, and all birthday themed! I wanted to show you a bunch more of the samples that I created for the January 2010 Stampendous! catalog, but it seems most of mine that went into the catalog are all summer and 4th of July! So, it seems you will just have to wait a couple of months for those :)

Instead, here are a couple of cards I sent in for another project. The first is Using "Freedom Cupcakes" and a sentiment from the set "Happy Messages". These cupcakes are so cute....they come in pieces, tos, bottoms, decorations, and accessories so that you can mix and match. I colored mine in with copics then added a lot of yummy Stampendous! glitter of course! (Tigerlily & Green)

The green background paper is Bo Bunny Double Dots, the orange dots are from the Basic Grey Lime Rickey Collection. The border punch is Fiskars' Treading Water.

Next up is a smaller card size than I usually make, but I am really starting to like this canvas size...3 1/2 x 5. The background paper is from the We Are Memory Keepers White Out Collection. I used these colors to pick out my Copic markers for the image. This image is one stamp, from a small Stampendous! set called :Two You". It is such an adorable little set and can be combined with so many of the other cute birthday sets :) And, once again, glitter in Tigerlily, Green, and Blue.

And, last up is a card that did get submitted and published in the latest catalog (for more of my catalog samples scroll down a few days to previous posts). This flower is from the Stampendous! set "April Showers:, (my favorite flower set until the new "Loopy Blooms"!) The flowers again are all mix & match, which I LOVE, plus the "happy" and "birthday" sentiments are just 2 of many in the set.

Again, the flower is colored with Copics (what else is there, right??). The border punch is by EK Success, and the brad is from Basic Grey.

Ok, that about does it for me this morning! I have tons of computer work to catch up on, including some for my real job. Have a great Hump Day! Thanks for stopping in!

Stepping up My Scrapbooking

I meant to get this post finished for yesterday to start up on my Scrappy Sunday posts again, but alas...as usual my plans didn't quite work out. So here it is Monday and here is my page for you, It seems like I haven't scrapbooked in like forever. And of course this one still isn't really for me.

I had planned out the page when I had thought of submitting an entry for the 2010 Spellbinders Team. But I decided against submitting at the last minute. So, thats why none of my children are on the page. I had wanted to use my friend Heather's new baby McKenna but couldn't get my hands on a picture. So instead I used one that my son Perry took of the neighbors adorable little girl, Tatum. I guess now I should give this page to her mom, huh?

OK, on to the page elements. My favorite part is the "On the Vine Border". I cut it out of the green part of a My Minds Eye pp, then airbrushed it with my copics and ABS1 with a slightly darker shade of green. Then, while still in the die, I added some Moonlight White smooch to parts of the leaves over the copic markered areas The little flowers are from "Flower Creations 1". They were done the same way...cut, embossed, airbrushed, then smooched.
The border around the center panel was one with "Labels 5". I cut out and airbrushed a bunch of these then cut them in half and placed them around 2 sides of the center piece, adding some little gems to the points. Tatum's name is done with a Glitter pen from American Crafts and the first letter is cut with a Spellbinders alphabet die. The letters are on a piece cut with "Fancy Tags".

To finish I added a few more flowers done with "Flower Creations 1" and some ribbon of course. I think the page turned out gorgeous, but it did not photograph so well. Click on any image to get a close up and better view.

OK, so I have to head off to work now, Have a great week and thanks for stopping in!

SC266: Gothic Roxy

Pixie Challenge #7

I can't believe the sun finally decided to come out and play here in North Carolina....thanks Mr Sunshine!! So in honor of spring days to come I colored my Pixie with bright fun colors! This is "Catching Hearts", a digi stamp available at Pixie Dust Studio.

I used her for this weeks Pixie Challenge, which is to create a decorative border. Well, hmm. I always use borders. So I had to do something different. So I thought I would try out my new Bazzill gem templates. I got the border set, and it is so very cool! I used it along with Crimson gems on the left side of my card.

My Pixie is colored with the copics pictured below to match the stripes in the Bo Bunny valentine paper that I used. The background cardstock is also by Bo Bunny, called Double Dots. I LOVE this stuff!!! And there are NEW colors this year!!
The sentiment is from a Stampendous! set called "Changito Valentines". I cut it out with a small Blossom Nestabilities and then airbrushed the center. Its then layered on a Heart Nestabilitie (both dies are by Spellbinders).

I love this little digi! so glad I popped in one day and saw this pretty new company! Go check the images out at Pixie Dust Studio. All are fun and whimsical for the inner child :) I downloaded a few more that you will be seeing in the days and weeks to come too! (digis are so much more affordiable than real stamps)

I also created another border around my digi image... a hand drawn broken line connected with little hearts. And I gave her a few matching gems on her dress, and of course a bow made with the most adorable scrap of ribbon I found in my stash. SUpplies are listed below.

As always, I appreciate your visit and love to get your comments! Have a great weekend :)

CAS6

OK, I FINALLY felt like stamping today! Woohoo! Still a bit tired, but I think the bug has finally flown away from my humble abode :) So...I had to do my card for the Club ANime sketch challenge that was due a couple of days back. This is "Chickie", a whimsy image available from InStyle Stamps. She was just calling out to me to color tonight!

I used some fun papers called "Season Collection" from Crate Paper for this sketch. All the papers were distressed with Versacolor ink cubes on the edges. The Oval panel and the sentiment panel were airbrushed with copics and masked with a Spellbinders die for the oval and post its for the sentiment.

Chickie was printed pretty big...a real bonus of digi-stamps :) You can print whatever size you want, flip the image, etc. Pretty cool. I colored her with the copics pictured below.
The sentiment is a new stamp available from Stampendous! called "Bird day". OK, thats it for now. I have more stuff for you for the next couple of days though, yeah me!! Have a great weekend...thanks for visiting and please say hi! Your comments make me happy :)

Stampendous! 2010 Spring Catalog

Hey guys! I am sitting in my basement thinking spring while outside the weather is anything but. We have had a VERY unusual amount of snow for NC. I don't think in my 41 years I have seen this much except maybe in the mid 70s one year.

(This post was started a few days ago, but never posted thanks to the flu bug that hit our house. Yuck. So, since I so totally do not feel like going downstairs to the stamproom, I will finish it! And yes, the weather still sucks.)

Anywho, I needed something to post so I thought I would start to pull up some of my cards that I created for the NEW Stampendous! catalog :) I didn't tell anyone about that yet, did I? I am such a tease!!

So, I think I ended up with about 14 cards or layouts in the new catalog! How cool is that? Hehe! SO here is one of my favs. It uses May Flowers for all the flowers and the stems are from April Showers. The pattern paper is from K& Co and the white border is punched with a Martha Stewart loopy border punch (from EK Success).

If you haven't seen the new catalog yet, they are also available to purchase in stores or online. We will have some at Enchanted Cottage as soon as we put in our order for the new items! It is absolutely fabuolus! Over 200 pages and TONS of samples! Keep checking out the Stampendous! blog for more peeks at new products!

So thats it for now! Have a great night :) -Cyndi
